I watch in the morning, so I have just caught up with last nights show and thread 4.

Dami - thought he was the best looking from the start but love his personality coming through. Still my favourite. šŸ˜

Gemma - I dont know if she is just completely guarded because of who she is and really hyper aware of what she is saying / how she is acting. If that is the case they need to stop casting children of famous people. Or if she is a normal 19yo who has spent 2 years in lockdown. Her bday is 1st May so 18 months ago she'd have been 17.5 so 8 months before that she was 16 and dating a 20/21yo? Where did she meet him? Michael Owen cant 'watch LI' but was happy that a grown ass man was clearly banging his 16yo.

Luca - walking red flag. The constant grabbing and holding of Gemma when she isnt reciprocating in any way is just alarming to me. It makes me cringe and feel uncomfortable. I think he is probably used to getting whatever women he likes and not having to work v hard at it.

Ekin Sue - try hard, think she still is under the impression the only way to get a guys attention is to be hyper sexual, a much less likeable Maura.

The rest are just blah. I dont hate this season, not yet. I am willing to give it a try. My recording cut off as Gemma was talking ti Jacques so not sure if I missed anything else?
I feel like this about Ekin-su as well, it seems like she thinks the only way to get a man is to lay it on super thick.
During the 'never have I ever' game she made me cringe, over excitedly drinking and gasping at every little thing that might make her seem like she is wild in the bedroom, not the way to get a decent man to respect you. Definitely trying hard to be this years Maura.

I donā€™t think Luca actually likes Gemma. I just think he wants to be the guy that ā€œgetsā€ her. He was smug about nicking her from Davide but I think jacques is the first guy he feels genuinely threatened by.
I've said this about Gemma too, with Davide, she just wanted to be the one who got him. She is obviously used to getting her own way.

Does anyone else think the reason Luca is so obsessed with Gemma is because he knows who her her dad is?
I think he knows fine well who her Dad is....its been rumored for months that she was going on LI. He was trying to get it out of her the other night with the whole "Does your Dad know much about football?" chat. I think all of the boys know tbh. Bragging rights with their friends... "I've banged Michael Owens daughter"

Why did they say Luca/Andrew "come to blows" when they just said a few words and then Andrew left. It literally means a physical fight.

Also, they kept saying "top 3" on aftersun last night and I'm convinced now the producers have come up with this term and fed it to Primark so now they're telling all the contestants to say it.

We see this every year. (Sorry to those who dont want to talk about prev years but its inevitable when all the cast end up as clones of prev seasons)

There is one girl or guy or both who seems to become the toy that the whole playground wants. Remember Wes from S4 šŸ¤£ and there was nothing about him imo.

Especially for the LI men ( apologies for perhaps being sexist) , a womans attractiveness seems to increase if other men want her. Its the caveman in them. I will be alpha if I can obtain this woman. It doesnt actually seem to matter how the woman is as a person or how she looks. Its all about how other men view her.

heā€™s so whinnnyyyyy, youā€™ve only been coupled up for one night

Wow I think Gemma's ex coming in and her talking to him was the only time I've seen her smile so far. Something really weird going on focusing it all on her/her ex etc, it's also boring viewing because frankly she is quite miserable and doesn't seem like she even wants to be there! All her chat is strained and she rarely makes eye contact. I love Ekin Su, at least she smiles a lot.

Gemma reminds me of myself when I was 17/18 and so awkward around guys and would be so rude to them because I didnā€™t know how to talk to guys. I also used to avoid eye contact šŸ¤£ in saying that Iā€™m so suprised she even wanted to go on this show if thatā€™s what sheā€™s like and she knows it. Iā€™m quite surprised she passed all the pysch tests tbh because she doesnā€™t seem to have any emotional maturity or capacity to handle a show like this. I was rewatching old seasons and Molly mae is only one year older than year but seems so much more of an adult if that makes sense.

LOLLLL I just rewatched yesterday's ep because I wasn't focused at all the first time and it's hilarious the way Gemma earlier on in the ep says " he's an ex for a reason, I'm happy getting to know Luca"

and then literally 10 minutes later it goes like this:
G: " No actually I want him and Paige to get on"
L: *veneer-y smile* " ah right so we can crack on"
G: " no not necessarily"

Upon review, I've decided that Luca is eventually going to blow his top in a big way in this place.

All he wants is a sounding board and he seems like he's miserable most all of the time when he's not getting his way and then makes anyone in the area listen to it and reassure him. Maybe I've jumped way ahead but he really kind of does this, imagine what he's like not on a hundred different cameras.
Think youā€™re not much off here, thereā€™s an old granny-style quote which I love:
ā€œhe goes out with himself but heā€™s all talk and no trousersā€ .. remind you of someonešŸ˜€. Less facetiously Lucaā€™s getting close to the edge, allā€™s well when their laughing at his banter and heā€™s centre stage but itā€™s not like that in the villa, I would expect that one week on all the initial excitement is beginning to ebb and everyone is doing their best to settle down and discover who theyā€™re actually compatible with, me me me Luca doesnā€™t really slot into such a scenario and Gemma really isnā€™t reciprocating to him as he thought she would, I do think she has a connection with him but heā€™s not savvy enough to work said connection.

I do think Gemmas upbringing has a lot to do with it too.

Shes not been like the rest of us, applying for jobs at 16, having to serve people in retail or fast food for Ā£3.50 per hour.

If she does dressage, I imagine that's also a niche social circle. I imagine she has socialised with a specific type of person and not the general public.

Youre right though there has been loads of young contestants over the years, none like Gemma. If anything the younger ones have no filter and are more wild.

All of this! Plus she's spent her older teenage years in lockdown so unlikely to have experienced life like other young cast members previously.

I feel she's very hyper aware of the cameras and how she behaves because she knows the attention she'll be getting outside and no doubt had some intense media guidance.

I think she'll start to relax and maybe having some familiarity with her ex in the house will help her drop her guard.

Does anyone else think the reason Luca is so obsessed with Gemma is because he knows who her her dad is?
Definitely, and in his head heā€™d already met the family, become besties with Michael Owen, days out at VIP events, married Gemma (with accompanying magazine spread), had his own range of fish in every supermarket (with MO financial backing) and was already spending his (& Gemmaā€™s) future inheritance. He can now see that all slipping away with the arrival of Jacques.

Also Afia annoys me. She is a pretty girl but seems a bit boring and doesnā€™t really bring anything to the show. Plus she sounds really nasally whenever she speaks. And the nose ring definitely doesnā€™t suit her
Sheā€™s a pretty girl, but when she puts all that concealer on itā€™s like sheā€™s being reflected in the back of a spoon

Legitimately can't understand how Paige has ended up single. She seems such a nice girl and is so gorgeous; personally for me, the best looking one.

The determination to make the show so about Gemma i.e. sending in her exes is incredibly strange. Are they trying to get more of a reaction out of her? She seems determined to remain very wooden and a bit dull.

To be honest most lads of their ages wouldn't know who Micheal Owen is, or be particularly impressed, so that doesn't hold much weight with today's youth.

Dating Michael Owens daughter these days would of been line my daughter dating Gordon Cowan's son in the 00's - wealthy yes, but not particularly the Beckhams are they?
