It’s from the first look clip they showed on aftersun. Jacques pulls Tasha for a chat and Luca tries to get Andrew to be bothered but he isn’t. Luca starts saying he doesn’t care about Tasha
Omg you’re joking. One chat doesn’t mean much. He’s just getting to know all the girls. It’s ok for Luca to chat to three different girls in two days and tell them all he likes them. I hate lads like him. Hope Andrew tells him where to go.

This 100%

Getting the ick from contestants this year tha I’ve never had before. Don’t know if it’s because I’m a bit older and wiser.
Luca gives me the ick
Davide gives me the ick
Andrew slightly giving me the ick
Jacques giving me the ick

I swear the contestants used to have great personalities and weren’t total creeps?

Remember that cringey guy obsessed with Camilla a few seasons ago? Really layed it on thick, made the collect British public simultaneously feel ill when he came on so strong, was weirdly obsessed with him and Camilla being the new Professor Green and Millie?

Well it feels like this batch of contestants are slightly toned down versions of THAT guy and bland boring Gemma is being positioned at the heart of the show and NONE OF IT IS MAKING SENSE!

I might give up watching and just follow these threads - more entertaining that the TV show atm
Haha, yes, Craig, he freaked me out 😂

Series 3 was the best! I rewatched it recently, they don’t make it like that anymore. Last years was totally irrelevant.

Can’t stand Laura whitmore. She’s toned it down a bit since last year - less of the one eyebrow arched and talking out the side of her mouth. But I hate how she’s appropriated Caroline’s entire persona instead of making the role her own: the slo-mo strut, being called “The Whitmore”. Ugh. Her presenting has no warmth or natural flow and she’s not good at ad libing. There’s something quite cold and forced about her.
She won’t ever replace The Flack, the show just isn’t the same anymore. I feel sad every time I see Laura strut in.

I have to admit that I found it weird on Aftersun last night that they have chosen not to address or try to defend the age issue. Laura just brushed it off with “they are all around the same age”. Love Island producers not reading the room on public opinion on this one.
They never really address any touchy subjects on aftersun or the podcast (The podcast in particular I think). I remember them being quiet about Fayes behaviour last year so if they won’t mention that, they definitely won’t be bringing up the age thing

I think this is the main issue with LW. She's been directed the exact same way that Caroline was and it feels so uncomfortable and insensitive. The slow-mo camera work and the nickname set LW up to fail because they meant she would always been seen as a lesser Caroline, a role she could never do justice to. They need to stop and LW needs to find her own "things" to see how she does when she's allowed to make the role properly her own. She was also given terrible questions to ask all through the last series, but they seemed better last night. I'll give her a couple of episodes before I judge her this year, but I do hope that the Aftersun set up being quite different will be an opportunity for her to be herself and not a creepy replica of Caroline.

I was going to say exactly this. I don’t find her that offensive. But they need to stol trying to make her Flake, because she just isn’t. And that’s okay

I watched after sun last night for the first time and my jaw literally dropped when they introduced her as ‘the OG of love or love island (can’t remember) I said to my boyfriend wtf are they forgetting what happened to the OG presenter ,so bizarre

I thought that too.

I feel a bit sorry for Afia tbh.. Right from the first evening, everything was Ekin sue, Ekin sue, ekin sue… Now nobody actually talks about Afia 😫

I see that people are thinking Afia is too boring but honestly I just really like her. She's refreshing compared to what we normally get and I think if she'd be given a proper chance, she would be in it for the right reasons and not flake, but that's just what I think.

Ekin Sue - try hard, think she still is under the impression the only way to get a guys attention is to be hyper sexual, a much less likeable Maura.

The rest are just blah. I dont hate this season, not yet. I am willing to give it a try. My recording cut off as Gemma was talking ti Jacques so not sure if I missed anything else?

does ES remind anyone else of AJ from last season? She came on super strong too but then I ended up really liking her, HOWEVER I don't see that happening with ES, they just remind me of each other, slightly looks wise too.

If I was a contestant I would suss out that Gemma would be getting more screen time and would not be happy. It's not fair on the other girls. Why not put one of their exes in? What is it saying to them that Gemma's been deliberately put into a triangle? They all know the game by now.
Luca and his teef looking upset cheered me somewhat. I don't like him at all.

I really like Afia! I think she was really stitched up being sent on a date with a guy who was never going to be interested in her, just as a way to get an ex in to the villa. I hope Afia and Dami both start getting more screen time, they both seem like nice, fun people.

I like Tasha too but I can see her getting a bit boring to watch if she sticks with Andrew the whole time. I hope we get to see more of her without him. I still don't trust his intentions 😂

She is quite like her actually. I dont dislike Ekin Sue shes just very cringy. She is a good looking woman and she could play the game without coming across desperate. Thats how its playing out for me right now anyway. There is time for it to change.

Yep Luca’s a piece of work, the cheeky chappie persona soon disappears when he’s not centre stage, seems to use Andrew as the person he can laud authority over: perhaps I’ve missed it but has he ever interacted with Dami? Jacques going in is his worst nightmare, can’t say that’s much of a shame as far as I’m concerned. I reckon one of Luca or Jacques will be out soon, either would be no loss for me but I reckon we’ll get an entirely different show after.

Adding to say that Jacques’ introduction has possibly exceeded the producer’s hopes, don’t think they would have contemplated Luca’s childish reactions to a bit of competition, isn’t Luca’s usual go-to response ‘I don’t give a ****’ …….. emmm, what’s happened there then🤫

LOLLLL I just rewatched yesterday's ep because I wasn't focused at all the first time and it's hilarious the way Gemma earlier on in the ep says " he's an ex for a reason, I'm happy getting to know Luca"

and then literally 10 minutes later it goes like this:
G: " No actually I want him and Paige to get on"
L: *veneer-y smile* " ah right so we can crack on"
G: " no not necessarily"

Upon review, I've decided that Luca is eventually going to blow his top in a big way in this place.

All he wants is a sounding board and he seems like he's miserable most all of the time when he's not getting his way and then makes anyone in the area listen to it and reassure him. Maybe I've jumped way ahead but he really kind of does this, imagine what he's like not on a hundred different cameras.
