It’s not a pile on. Viewers are rightfully getting sick of gemma because it’s the only girl they show she has a contract a management team and the more she stays the more people will get pissed off. It’s not fair on the other islanders who are on the show she’s being given special treatment cause of who her father is and it’s not on imo.

Gemma has had hate from day 1 when she hadn’t even had enough time to warrant it. She comes across sound enough to me. Most islanders sign to management before they go in. Even Savanna was signed.

Shes not showing personality either tho, even on the unseen bits tonight she was very boring. We are all entitled to our opinion yes they do sign with management but this series is just a different scenario she’s the “it” girl with no personality
 
I like Gemma but I do think she is very aware of how she will be portrayed and knows the spotlight will be on her more but they could also be editing her to look this way as maybe they don’t want her to be as likeable just yet .
Speaking of Savanna , did anyone else read the interview her mother gave in the Daily Mail this week ? It must be tit coming out after going through that process to find out you had no screen time and won’t be making any money

I haven't seen Unseen Bits yet (ya know the Irish TV channel decided it obviously wasn't important 🙄)
But I think we might see a different Gemma when the ex comes in cause he may end up pulling her aside and saying Gemma act like the girl I know you are (assuming that she's not like the way she's been carrying on in LI but much nicer in real life)
I don't like all the time about her buttttttt.....I don't like Eggs and Soup at all at all. Rather Gemma stayed than Eggs and Soup.

the thing is i don't think she's asked or is trying to be the 'it girl'. ekin su walked in and made it known she was willing to be selfish and inconsiderate if it means she gets what she wants. gemma went in a bit standoffish and guarded and hasn't shared the one thing that would make her popular with wannabe influencers - that her dad's a multimillionaire ex england footballer who still has reach and media attention as a pundit. she could've easily panicked when davide's attention turned to ekin su and blurted it out to keep the focus on her but i genuinely think she wants to be a bit of a background character at times.

the combination of media attention, how attractive she is to 3/6 guys, the editing and then producers sending her ex in have accumulated into 'we hate gemma' but in reality she's influenced none of that consciously. she can't help these things being true but she has to live in a villa and be recorded 24/7 as these things play out in real time. this is her real life and i think people are forgetting that.

iirc molly mae was signed to scott thomas' (season two) the social pr. are you telling me his insider knowledge of how the show works isn't more of an advantage? and she was still a runner up bc of amber's casa amor storyline, again dictated by producers.

i'd say she might get a higher per episode / week fee than everyone else at a push as some sort of 'compensation' for press coverage but i doubt they're able to promise final places bc of competition law (same could be said for tasha and her positive press for being deaf or luca and his famous influencer exes). cash prize and application / scouting process means everyone gets as fair a shot as possible depending on how easily audiences are swayed by editing. i'm not saying michael owen won't buy a ton of phones to get more app votes but that's his doing
