Now he really was a toxic man! Probably my most hated love island contestant ever. Don’t think he had one moment where he was happy or joking around with the other lads. He was absolutely vile start to finish!!
He was another one that was too focused on the game instead of just relaxing.

I can still remember him huffing and puffing after reading Sophie's phone that Adam wanted to take her on a date...it really wasn't that deep.

Apologies if this has been spoken about but why didn't Paige leave too ? The whole " you are gonna smash it " speech from Jacques to her..smash what exactly? She's in a couple with him and supposedly a relationship so what is the point of her staying on the show?

Also clearly something happened with Jacques that hasn't been shown, there wasn't a single normal reaction to him saying he was leaving ..not one of them looked shocked or surprised including Paige.

The way this year's show has been edited has been dire and the show itself has lost its spark. The fact that people like Gemma are just able to coast along contributing nothing of an entertainment value speaks volumes . Where was the footage of Jasmine kicking off at Coco ? That's what we want to see, not Michael Owens daughter in her designer shades doing nothing!
She should absolutely not have left with him! Whether they end up together on the outside or not she’s only known him 2 weeks. Love island is a massive stepping stone career wise and the longer she stays in the more publicity, brand deals and tv appearances she’ll receive on the outside. It’s a no brainer really.

Previous posters have hit the nail on the head in terms of the show not being fun or lighthearted any more.

It’s so staged and micromanaged by producers but I also think itv and/or production are in the pockets of management companies who promote influencers (or wannabe influencers), so we’re now getting recycled versions of the same people every series. They’ll also have a say in the contracts so how they’ll be portrayed, what’s acceptable and what’s not etc. And as much as I’ve enjoyed parts of this series, I do think a lot the drama has been manufactured.

I’m gonna need to watch the first three series at one point cos everyone says they were the best.

Series 2 is by far the best followed by 3!

Series 3 was iconic!

I think I need to watch it again after this has finished.

S4 was when all that micro management bs started. They would legit throw phones and force conversations again again again (Jake stated)

But that is why the show has now lost its spark. It shouldn't be about furthering their careers and getting a deal with the tit show that is In the Style.

Perhaps they need to stop calling it Love island cos it has got nothing to do with love that's for sure!

Second this, she seemed relieved that he’s gone. The thing that doesn’t show her in a good light is just before Adam came in she had all but forgiven Jaques, she gave him a kiss & cuddle and went in the hut saying to camera about how he’s told her everything she needed to hear etc. Then in walks Adam and it was ‘oh I’m not sure if I want to train him up to be boyfriend material’. Surely she can’t see Adam as an improvement on Jaques?

Adam is a walking ick IMO. I suppose he could have grown up/matured and gained respect for women. However apparently he was in a relationship 2 months ago, living together with their dog… then he ended things out of blue. Maybe because he was invited back to LI? if this is the case then he hasn’t grown up at all.
I agree about Adam but two things on that - firstly, it might have taken her some time to actually process what had happened with Jacques and she only really agreed to move past Casa etc because he was sat crying in front of her, it's really manipulative when men do this and she probably felt backed into a corner. Like I said previously personally I'm hardened to men crying now and it wouldn't impact me in the same way it would've done say 5 years ago, but most people do find it hard not to give in when someone is crying and I'd say especially so when it's a man as we simply aren't used to seeing it for the most part. But secondly, it might not even be that she wants to couple up with Adam per se, but that she knows Jacques' behaviour is going to get worse for him being there and showing the slightest bit of interest in Paige. Maybe she just thought it's more hassle than it's worth now a new guy has come in, Jacques was kicking off immediately at the mere sniff of Adam having said anything about him, I'd understand it if she was like nah I've had enough now. He's way too much, I do hope he gets the help he obviously needs on the outside but I'm not holding my breath

I have just watched last nights and I’m sorry I didn’t like jaques but I’m crying my eyes out
I think he is a very troubled little boy but duck me he got to me
I think these programmes need to be cut

It’s not fair people making a show of themselves on national tv
They have already lost three past contestants all for what??
It doesn’t seem fair to be doing this anymore on these threads 😢

If this was Jacques people would be calling for a firing squad.

I’m baffled as to how they are so popular. Either it’s; 1. outright rigged or,
2. Fiat 500 have a warped view on what a healthy romantic relationship looks like, or
3. they exhibit these behaviours themselves and like it being normalised, or
4. the people they are in relationships with exhibit these behaviours and they don’t want to have to confront how awful it is.

Agree to a certain extent but unfortunately that is the world we live in these days. You can’t really fault these young ones for wanting to earn themselves some big cash quickly from a stint on a tv show. It’s one of those don’t hate the player hate the game types of things. Everything absolutely everything revolves around money these days.

What did Cara contribute?
What did Gaby contribute?
What did Molly-Mae contribute?
What did Paige contribute?
What did Kaz contribute?

Did Jasmine kick-off or is she exaggerating? Loads talk the talk outside the villa but very few manage inside. I think Gemma has been excellent(considering she's in the strongest couple). I am curious what is Gemma supposed to do, take Adam upto the terrace and throw her place in the final away?

Too many people get misty-eyed about the previous series, I've just read how great series 4 was....it was awful and the fact they had to build the show around Georgia should remind us just how bland that cast was. The first 10 days of series 5 were shocking(i can remember the comments) until Maura walked in.

The ratings are significantly up on the last series, the producers are clearly doing something right.

I’m sorry but I disagree. If you go on a show as popular and well known as love island you know people will be talking about you, that’s just how life works. Of course death threats and constant abuse isn’t right but I can’t be arsed with all of these people claiming we should never be able to have an opinion on someone incase it upsets them 🙄 Maybe don’t act like an utter bleep on national television then?

Again i’m sorry if this comes across rude but from what we know the deaths of Sophie & Caroline (and maybe Mike) weren’t even related to the show, so why should they be cut?? They have introduced proper care/aftercare so i’m not really sure what more they are meant to do. Are we not allowed to have reality tv ever again incase someone gets called out for their manipulative and borderline abusive actions? I don’t think so.
