Oh yeah hadn't clicked about the challenges, but yes thats what's missing! I agree that the lightheartedness and fun seems to have gone this series, on the whole they're a good bunch of people but cripes the episodes are starting to get tedious. I think there needs to be more dumpings and more bombshells or something?! Seems to have lost the balance between drama and fun, I think the series with Maura in is unmatched in that regard. Luca is so desperate for the clout of being with Gemma that I think he's holding on to her tightly for the wrong reasons rather than because he's super into her.

Paige can't like Jacques that much to have not gone with him?
I thought she looked relieved in all honesty. She'd had that chat on the terrace (can't remember who - Indiyah?) about his behaviour concerning her and how she doesn't want to train someone to be boyfriend material. I bet she was worried about how to ditch him without him booting off about it, him leaving = easy escape for her

I just don’t understand why Jacques specifically was even brought onto the show. Surely the only reason you bring on another contestants ex is to stir up drama between that contestant and whoever and that just didn’t happen. I think it’s very telling that Gemma didn’t even show an inkling of feelings towards Jacques - that usually only happens when things were very toxic/negative. Just think they could’ve brought someone else in rather than Gemma’s ex (who clearly had problems) if him being her ex isn’t even going to be all that relevant to any stories. Bizarre.

Totally agree having just finished that episode. She can hopefully let her hair down now and relax a bit!

I’m old enough to remember the original love island (the “celeb” version) what they need is a 25+ or 30+ version of this show. You will still get the shallow, self obsessed and wannabe influencers but hopefully you won’t have to babysit them so much.

With the exception of ES and Davide these lot are boring. Crying their eyes out over someone you’ve known for a few weeks, who 72 hrs ago was fooling around in bed with someone else.

I don’t care about Paige, Gucca (I’m lazy) or the never ending saga of creepy Andrew and thirsty Tasha. I don’t want to watch teens shagging on national tv, it gives me the ick.

Get some grownups in there, treat them like grownups, yes do your due dilligence but all this mummying of the contestants just to avoid legal action is boring.

Are you serious? He set off more alarm bells and doubts in the previous few days than a fire station! They hadn't had the conversation about boyfriend /girlfriend and she told him straight that his behaviour was not on, which had obviously been a topic over some time. She'd have been a fool to follow him. She's stupid but not that stupid.

Second this, she seemed relieved that he’s gone. The thing that doesn’t show her in a good light is just before Adam came in she had all but forgiven Jaques, she gave him a kiss & cuddle and went in the hut saying to camera about how he’s told her everything she needed to hear etc. Then in walks Adam and it was ‘oh I’m not sure if I want to train him up to be boyfriend material’. Surely she can’t see Adam as an improvement on Jaques?

Adam is a walking ick IMO. I suppose he could have grown up/matured and gained respect for women. However apparently he was in a relationship 2 months ago, living together with their dog… then he ended things out of blue. Maybe because he was invited back to LI? if this is the case then he hasn’t grown up at all.

Apologies if this has been spoken about but why didn't Paige leave too ? The whole " you are gonna smash it " speech from Jacques to her..smash what exactly? She's in a couple with him and supposedly a relationship so what is the point of her staying on the show?

Also clearly something happened with Jacques that hasn't been shown, there wasn't a single normal reaction to him saying he was leaving ..not one of them looked shocked or surprised including Paige.

The way this year's show has been edited has been dire and the show itself has lost its spark. The fact that people like Gemma are just able to coast along contributing nothing of an entertainment value speaks volumes . Where was the footage of Jasmine kicking off at Coco ? That's what we want to see, not Michael Owens daughter in her designer shades doing nothing!

Think love island has become a victim of its own success tbh. It was far better with fewer viewers and therefore fewer complaints 😂 Once Facebook mums and fiat 500 girls got fully involved it just lost the spark it had. It’s a completely different show these days and I don’t see it ever improving only getting worse each year as it becomes more and more sanitised through the lens of #BeKind
