It’s crazy how much you can get away with as a white man

its always “aww” and “I feel so horrible for him” when they consistently show toxic (and sometimes violent/abusive behaviour) yetlet a woman flirt with others or simply reject a guy (because we as women are expected to give every man a chance) and suddenlywe are witches and hated.
It's bleeping depressing.
If your a immature, misogynistic, controlling man the world and it's mother will jump to your defense if you are a woman who simply decides to put yourself first you are DRAGGED!!!

I reckon Jacques was fastracked onto the show because of his prior relationship with Gemma, an earlier post on here suggests Islanders are scouted for long time before, well maybe not in this case. Probably glossed over the medical checks for him just to get him out there. No problem getting him released from his pro rugby contract either. What young athlete would walk away from a sports contract early in their career? Unless he was like Toby and the other so called footballers from last season, all non league players. (sorry I'm not a rugby follower)
It's clear the producers didn't like him as vile behavior made edit on many occasions, they could of just jack and jazmined him out!
It's scary thought that there are guys like him in every pub on a Saturday night maybe off their rocks on booze and drugs.
The good thing is the whole experience has given him an opportunity to sort his life out.

He didn’t shove her, he sidestepped her at most. Her taken aback reaction was because it was clearly a reaction to Adam’s arrival , not because he had physically shoved her.

oh, where you in the villa to see first hand?

she was reacting to Luca. Adam had arrived already at that point, and Gemma is walking to Luca and isn’t gesturing. then he lightly shoved her out of the way and she’s shocked/feeling awkward by it which is why she turns to Luca immediately afterwards. Her whole body is facing him. She puts her arms out as if to say “what the hell was that?” and moves away whilst turning back to him with her mouth open in shock.

She reacted to Luca 100% I don’t understand where your denial is coming from. Is Claudia Rosa paying you?!

I went to university that was sports heavy.
I lived with a boy who played rugby and was in the university rugby team. Now I HAD NO IDEA what the mentality was of rugby players and the things they did in their socials until I lived with this boy.

A giant bowl or trophy would be placed in the middle of a room where about 20 or more of them sat around it drinking. They would add bits of their own drinks to this cup- vodka, whiskey, beers etc and so it continued throughout the night playing their drinking games. As the men would vomit , INTO THIS BOWL IT WOULD GO !
And whoever lost challenges or rounds etc HAD TO DRINK THIS BOWL !!!!!!!!!! Filled with mens drinks, vomit and God knows what else !

I found out this is pretty standard practice and bully boy mentality in rugby teams/clubs. I have NEVER EVER looked at a man who plays rugby the same way again. Absolute fuckin weirdos. Soon as Jacques walked in I thought yep, you’re one of them LADS LADS LADS gobshites.
I've never liked 'lads' erghhh

Im not sure why you’re getting personal - I’m watching the same video as you but just viewing it differently.

If Luca shoved her he’d have been removed and certainly wouldn’t have been aired. Different interpretations are allowed in here last time I checked, even if they’re not popular.

Just caught up on last night's episode. I agree with others that there's something they're not showing and he was asked to leave. Also highly manipulative to say all of that to Paige before going, he was the one who ruined things between them and then to say stuff like I'll wait for you and count down the days is horrible imo. Given what he's been like previously absolutely no chance he was being genuine but more he hated being mugged off and his ego needs her to not pursue anyone else now he's gone. It's evident what type of person he is from the start- he blatantly knew Gemma his ex was in there, opportunity of a lifetime for her and still he wanted to wade in to cause drama, yuck.

This season just isn't fun at all. I think they made a huge error in casting Jacques as he really made it misogyny heavy. There are no fun bromances or friendships or just funny stuff. Like I remember in S4 Adam and Charlie distracted Eyal by pretending to be interested in his bracelet so Alex could talk to Megan. We would never get cash hughes now!! It's just the same boring scenes again and again. 2 weeks to the final and I don't feel like I "know" any of the islanders... the editing is terrible these days.
That reminds of the undercover challenge in series 5 when someone threw Elly Belly up a tree and they had to get Maura to say fanny flutters 3 times or something . I loved that challenge

Rugby culture is so so fucked up, one of my best girl mates plays rugby and I went to her social once where the lads were, they were literally like a pack of animals with not a brain cell between them, they were playing this game where they stood far from the wall and had to lean into the wall head first with their hands behind their backs and the person who got the farthest away from the wall won, like wtf, there was blood marks left on the wall after from where they smashed their head against it so many times. It is literally gross, can't stand rugby players ever since!!!

Yeh just saw they split & thought they had for a while .but they in Portugal together about 2 weeks ago for a wedding so thought all was ok..obvs not🤣
If it’s a wedding of mutual friends sure they’ll attend. Going slightly sideways but with all the blended families we have these days if folks can’t out aside their differences for the day then practically no one would be attending the wedding. Personally I believe that mostly we do move on, it’s those that won’t even try that annoy me.

I've seen like 2? It's just been non-drama after poor cliffhangers. I feel sad this was my first series 🤣

He didn't shove her he pied her .she tried to hug him or kiss him and he basically stepped away from it

luca “I don’t like creeps who try to talk to you” referring to Adam having a conversation with Gemma

I wasn’t getting personal, I was obviously being sarcastic.

I don’t mind disagreeing with you if you want to be a Luca fan. But I don’t like seeing his behaviour/actions being downplayed and minimised.

youre not qualified to say he didn’t push her because you weren’t there, anymore than anyone can definitively say he did push her. What we can clearly see is Gemma’s reaction - which is that of someone shocked and indignant. And like I said before, it’s not the first time she’s reacted like this to things Luca has said/done.

what’s weird is that they are obviously doing the challenges (the dog one was shown on best bits) but they aren’t being put into the main show. Bizarre decision.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these people need 3 months MINIMUM of therapy before going anywhere near that villa.
A psych evaluation/assessment is not enough. They need to show they are taking healthy steps to address any underlying issues and are able to express emotions in a healthy way.

You’re not qualified either so you need to apply the same logic to your own reactions when folk don’t agree with you.

her reaction from What I saw is to him pieing Her. Not because she’s shocked that he physically pushed her.

Last night's episode was really disjointed, they definitely left loads out.
The other islanders didn't seem surprised or bothered, and Paige's reaction was odd. If Jacques genuinely chose to leave (and was not told to leave) Paige would have seemed shocked and more upset. She would probably have tried to persuade him to stay. So would Luca. No-one tried to persuade him to stay, that tells me they were expecting him to be asked to leave.
Dami seemed really pissed off with Jacques, he was scowling when Jacques told them. I wonder what happened? Wonder if during a row Jacques blamed Dami for egging him on in Casa. Can't see them doing movie night now, unless Jacques is edited out, and that would leave hardly anything else! They will do the tweet thing/ social media instead.
I agree, and when he made the announcement by the fire pit they all looked as if they were in on something already, perhaps they had reshot the scene a few times but whatever it was it didn't feel a natural reaction to me from any of them especially Paige.

My experience of rugby players is not great either. When I was at university I had a waitressing job and on one occasion, a rugby team was trying to grab me as I served them their food. It was horrible. Then, another time in my home town I was working for this company and a fairly well-known rugby player who had moved to the area started stalking me at work and following me in his car, and grabbing me. I clearly remember him stopping traffic with his car whilst he tried to argue with me to get in his car. He was married too!

Clearly a misogynistic culture.
