Agree. It’s not the same Love Island anymore. Also I think the producers this year know that their viewings aren’t as high as other years so they’re really provoking the islanders to create drama and good tv, their mental health doesn’t seem to be cared about whatsoever.
 
A few after thoughts:

- I’ve no doubt the producers will have intervened and had a chat with her, we don’t see everything and we can’t assume they didn’t
- sometimes people behave badly, it might not be as a result of trauma and bad experiences….it’s just bad behaviour and we’ve probably all acted in ways we are ashamed of. For me that was Fayes age, my twenties self I’d love to punch in the face but here we are. I made many mistakes, handled stuff terribly, but I’m not vulnerable/damaged/at risk. Granted I didn’t do it on TV
- the girls may also have intervened but it didn’t make the edit
- the producers have been slated for a boring series, so they’ve created drama by showing those clips. Now people are complaining to Ofcom. So where’s the line? How could anyone possibly know? Don’t watch if you don’t like manufactured/manipulation of people on tv - that’s what LI is. It’s about fame, not about love. Sorry
- Fayes behaviour doesn’t put her at risk of suicide, yes two people committed suicide linked to the show. Was it because of their behaviour on the show? No. Perhaps they struggled with the aftermath of the show, yes. But that could happen to ANY contestant on any show, people committing suicide can often come out of the blue from people it’s least expected of. I personally don’t think we need to drag up the mental health crisis of previous contestants when someone on the current series kicks off. She passed the psych evaluation because she’s fine. She’s just like a million other confident but insecure women in the world. This is a societal issue not a Faye issue

I think this series confirms no more!!! 3 lives have already been lost by this “entertainment” I am so worried what is going to happen at the end of this one 😔. Who is to blame? The producers? The contestants desperate for fame? Very upsetting

But is it the producer's fault? We’ve seen the same scenes on Big Brother, especially in earlier series. What's different is social media, it bleeping sucks! Twitter & Instagram have a lot to answer for, enables people to be anonymous and send hate. How can the producers avoid this? They are trying to show reality tv drama, we all complain it's boring and call for drama, but when we get it, we complain. Contestants receiving racist abuse and death threats for being themselves is not ok - but what can they do about that?

Something that can actually be done is the automatic screening of racist abuse on social media, as highlighted by the Euros. Can't they do the same for death threats? This is not the producer's responsibility. All they can do is ensure that contestants are educated before and supported afterwards. They all know of the history of the show, they know what they are signing up for. I understand it's tit that they have to expect it, but at this point they do.

It’s Facebook, twitter & Instagram that are responsible.
 
Why are people making reports to bloody OfCom about last night? What is it going to result in only that segment being scrapped for next year and again another sanitised version of the show without any drama. It happened, Faye went off, complaining to OfCom isn’t going to make it un-happen. The same ones complaining are the same ones giving out that the show isn’t what it once was. Is it any wonder! THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE THINGS. Just stick on the Antiques Roadshow on repeat and let the rest of us salivate in the drama we want to see.

I entirely see your point and agree to an extent - but the producers know what will happen if they air that. Yes, it’s the consequences of her own actions but we KNOW mob Twitter will be after her blood and then preach “be kind” if something happens.

The producers showed too much last night I agree, however i’m glad we got the opportunity to see Faye like that, she's not deserving of the win for me at all. Also we need to see what happens to understand the story after. We would be so confused at the Teddy & Faye aftermath if we hadn't seen the drama unfold.


Also i’ll just add that social media has been around for 10 years plus now - it's caused society so much mental health. Thousands of suicides. Can we really not find a way of intercepting hate, racism and cyber bullying before it's posted?
 
I don’t know if it’s been said. How has no one stood up to Faye or taken her aside privately and mention her behaviour is not on. I am sure Teddy would have had his say but no one likes to be screamed at. She needs therapy. I genuinely had to put her on mute. She awful she needs to go now. That was a whole episode of her screaming was too much.
Good on Chloe telling Liberty that Jake still has not reassured her and told her how attractive , hot she is. Her has no interest.
 
I have had a melt down before, admittedly not on national TV, but I don't think we can or should be attempting to keep protecting adults from themselves. Faye chose to go on LI knowing what that entails. I did not for one second think anyone was in danger from her last night. I found her boring, shouty and repetitive. But I agree this series should end because I won't want to watch a boring picnic in the park nor, I bet, will the same people complaining to Ofcom. Social media encourages a herd mentality people wanting to be part of a movement. So what I don't get is why is no one complaining about Jakes mental health?

I complained to ofcom.. unacceptable behaviour.. people who are saying ‘oh her guards up.. someone damaged Faye in the past. Bla bla bla bla’ so it’s okay for her to now damage a man by publicly humiliating him degrading and verbally abusing him ?!?she’s deffo the type to throw hands on a man .. she’s the type to choose her men wisely based on who she can manipulate and talk tit to.Her family need to intervene and ask the show the remove her. It’s not right. She’s a bully. I’m seeing that ‘be kind’ only applies to a certain demographic..have ITV stepped in to back teddy? No. And godforbid it were a woman of colour behaving the way Faye was. It would be ‘she’s being aggressive and threatening, I don’t feel safe bla blah’. We’ve all seen it before. She needs to be removed. I bet she’s embarrassed this morning. One of the girls should of told her about herself.. the show needs to be axed after this

The answer is, they can.
If they can automatically bleep and #$%%@ curse words on our Instagram stories, flag covid posts etc. then I have no doubt they can intercept hate, racism, death threats and threats of physical harm etc.
Unfortunately social media thrives off of dissension and as a result will never address these things unless they are strong armed into it.
 
I defended Faye in earlier threads but her behaviour last night was utterly disgusting. You cannot go around shouting and screaming at everyone and cutting them off mid sentence. How condescending she is is infuriating - if she spoke to me like that I’d have to knock her out 🤣

Teddy is a gent and he should not have to put up with tit like that!!!

Faye needs to go home the stupid ragey witch
