In the new vlogs - business partner = Jack, right?

Lindsey’s old vlogs are her gift to us all. This is my favourite one. 16 minutes in - why on earth would you film, never mind edit and upload this?
 
How long has she lived in London to be pronouncing Clerkenwell like that?!! 😳

ALSO La Roche-Posay as a sponsor?!? Not sure what's that is all about...

I wondered about that. I doubt she will make that much from the video (especially considering that she also bought other pairs like the orange Vagabond pair and the also extremely expensive Repetto pair). So is it basically a strategy to drive up engagement again and profit from it in the long run when more fashion companies see her as a valuable influencer again?
 
I feel like she just want to get invited to those Chanel dinners that Joanna gets invited too.
Chanel just isn't her style or vibe.. that t shirt and awful jacket with Chanel.
Would have been better if she kept the orange ones they actually were quite nice and I feel like maybe it would inspire her more than navy and black :')
 
I reluctantly watched Linda's new vlogs and was very surprised her personality is more likeable in vlog form that in static insta pics and reels. Lizzy should take note. Shot for Shot in the same place in your NYC apartment is not a good vid - with the tested basics why didn't she film any shots of her walking in the ballet pumps - 30mins of her groaning on indoors! Sooo boring!

Couldn’t agree with you more, it’s the only time I could put with yet another navy outfit. Alas, she’s taking them back, although I sure she stated at the beginning of the segment she couldn’t! So much money for testing basics. Also, the jumpy camera positioning is getting too much now ffs.

I don’t mind Lindsey’s vids, at least there’s personality injected and a bit more put together in a natural kind of way. I just think Lizzy is not into doing anything apart from being a SWF!
 
I want to know who told Lizzy the Chanel flats needed to be tight! It's fairly common knowledge their shoes run at least a 1/2 size small. And to be like "eh I'm rating these Chanel's last, but they'll be the ones I wear the most" was a little bit ridiculous. Honestly, $1000 is stupid for a pair of flats, but I got the exact same ones secondhand a few years ago for $300 so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't believe she bought the orange shoes and then was like "welp not gonna wear 'em so let me go buy another pair of $150 flats to try!" What an idiot.
 
She is so insufferable, how many times did she reference new york in that testing basics video - we get it, you "live" there, you stalk the halpins, drink coffee and guinness, occasionally shop for overpriced things and thats about it - twit.

Also she needs to lay off the fillers in her face, she is starting to look like handsome squidward

Came here to say the same thing. So annoying. Stop trying to make NYC happen, Lizzy! It's not going to happen!

Also, I REFUSE to consider her a New Yorker. She doesn't even technically live there. She just has an apartment there to play house in and avoid her actual life when she gets bored of doing nothing in London... so she goes to NYC to be bored there. :rolleyes:

The sudden return of Testing Basics must be a hint of desperation setting in. I’ve always thought if Lizzy could financially afford to drop Youtube she would have done it years ago. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, aren’t Youtube and affiliate links the only way influencers can self generate income? Most of Lizzy’s affiliate links sit on Youtube. The rest of the time she’s reliant on external contracts from brands but those are ever diminishing for Lizzy.

Lizzy hasn’t even uploaded a Youtube ad so far this year. Lizzy’s either trying to increase her engagement in the hopes of getting those paid opportunities back, or she just needs more money in general and Youtube and affiliate links will provide that - although the money really pales into significance compared to those brand partnerships.
Over on IG Lizzy didn’t post a single ad in April and so far in May just an ad for JCrew but that’ll be part of a longterm contract, so no new money coming in from IG either.

Is this half arsed, slightly manic version of Testing Basics really going to revive Lizzy’s channel though? Is not distasteful to push what is essentially a series of shopping videos in this economic climate?

And testing basics just reaffirms Lizzy has no personal style. Buy jeans that are too long because you can take them up when they’re not a trend anymore. The collective what ‘we’ like, but what does Lizzy like? Ballet flats so timeless, so effortless, so chic - exactly the reason why they haven’t graced Lizzy’s feet since the last time they were a trend?

the most lucrative way of 'influencing' is brand advertisements and passive income through ebooks, guides, course, etc. etc. rather than affiliate links or money from youtube, which is poor. if lizzy wanted to generate a good chunk of income she should create a Testing Basics guide that people could pay for. these would have to be super detailed (and kept updated!) for people to buy them but it would generate a lot of money in the long run. that requires too much actual work though. instead she makes half arsed videos where she wears clothes for a week and then reviews them.....

I quite like her vids too. They show way more insight and personality than the posey insta pics.
 
Is Lindsay's ex boyfriend (the Hostage - can't remember his proper name?!) behind her return to YouTube? Maybe a way of raising the profiles for both businesses they have together? And was that him scratching around in the background at the end of this week's vlog?
