Not sure if anyone is interested but I just noticed there's a three part programme on BBC2 on Wednesday night at 2100... Bent Coppers: Crossing the Line of Duty.

I was hoping Adrian Dunbar would be narrating, but turns out it's Philip Glenister. I guess Gene Hunt is the next best thing.

Shrine of duty is the best

When I first listened to it, I thought they were very good for amateurs who were just massive fans of the show, with the sound and set up etc. Only when I looked at their insta did I realise the 3 of them were radio presenters!!! Doh

Oh thanks for this, will be watching! Years ago when I was in the job, I reported a colleague for having huge debts, using his status as an officer to get free stuff, being completely inappropriate with victims of DA etc. He would drove to another county to post letters so he couldn't be located using the stamp from the post office. Minor stuff compared to LOD, but still not right and very dodgy. They didn't do anything about it. But the twit got sacked a few years later for a number of things.

Good for you for doing that, some people just deserve everything they get. Shocking (although not surprising) that nothing came of it initially though!

So having just rematch I've just noticed that when Chloe takes the file with the DNA over to WWW she seems genuinely confused and asks him to shed some light. This makes me think the result could be someone that she hasn't heard of and doesn't know who they are ie not Ted or anyone like that

Just a thought 🤷🏻‍♀️

Soooo it’ll be someone that she isn’t familiar with but Steve and Ted know. I thought this too. But it narrows it down to 5 seasons worth 😆

When they look at DNA, they look at partial matches too to try and get more chances of getting a match. Like, if your house is burgled, they might find some DNA but it won't be a full match because the person who robbed you hasn't been caught before. But they might have a relative, like a brother or uncle who HAS been previous arrested, so they can then go find all the family members of that partial match they do have to narrow down their search area.

There was a famous case a few years ago where a person got done for a relatively minor driving offense - and after routinely taking their DNA, they busted the father for a series of rapes that had been unsolved for 30+ years!

This amused me 🤣
