I would need to rewatch them all but I'm sure it was because they wanted a hold over Tony Gates as his DNA was on her body. Not sure why they kept her body after he killed himself though? Some bigger plan that we find out this series...
Yes I think you’re right with the Tony Gates thing, they had the knife with his fingerprints on too. I remember in s5 Miroslav opened Terry’s freezer and said something like “oh I forgot she was in there”, then they found her body parts with John Corbett’s body
