I've never listened to BBC London but I've always got the impression their audience and LBC's are pretty interchangeable.
They definitely are! Many of the old time callers I remember for LBC, then BBC RL, now back to LBC again. LOL, I must be just as bad as I hear them them. At least the majority to keep their original names and locations, but Joy in Streatham (on BBC RL) is Joy in Islington when on LBC. She can't fool me as as soon as she starts to speak, I recognise her and have to turn off. Islington? As if or ever... ;)

Well, Vicky in Croydon was talking about something I’d never heard her discuss before.
I believe Vicky in Croydon was a great fan of Iain Lee when he was on LBC. I think she also caused the lockdown (not permanently) of another popular thread on another forum...

Is Islington still regarded as a village within London & does it have a nice coffee shop to sit in, whilst posting PM's to legendary LBC critic 'Colin in Windsor'?
:D

Nick Abbot seems to be very grumpy this evening, 3/4 of an hour of gloom so far.
As an aside, regular LBC contributor deisegal, is as mad as a box of frogs, quite possibly deranged.

Crossroads- Benny and Miss Diane, Amy Turtle
"My friend was a whizz on the Organ, could play the World of Sport theme on it"
Extra large shoes for ladies
"Men with small feet I find... disturbing"
Obscure 1960's pop groups - Terry Judge & The Barristers 😁
"There's a nudist resort opened up in Wales - Barebum Bay"
Larry Grayson
Shut that door
Meeting John Inman at the annual Water Rats ball.
Steve Allen is in fine form this morning.

Same as usual then haha. His podcast is far better. But I can't really stand Carol Mcgiffin. They do seem to gel well though. They are the complete opposite. Carol loves being abroad, enjoying life, she's an Covid denier or at least doesn't take it seriously despite being a cancer survivor. Nick is more dour, enjoys wildlife and going to Kew gardens or other public gardens/attractions around Britain, and takes Covid more seriously. I cannot imagine Carol ever enjoying the things Nick does haha.

Lol........ didn't mention nude leap frog at all did he? That's one of his all time old chestnut gags.

Emma Barnett used to do the Sunday afternoon tea time show after James Max vacated the slot.

I remember Caroline Faraday and Jane Moore. She was great back in the day on the morning drive show. I remember her hammering home the MMR Jab scare, back when Tony Blair wouldn't own up to it for his own kids but still happily promoted it.

Julie Etchingham is a fairly high profile stand-in for LBC.
She has a lovely voice for radio.

Duncan "chase me" Norvelle got a mention too, was he involved in nude leapfrog with Steve?

No wonder Nick Abbot was very grumpy as he has gone on and on and on and on about Trump and it is Joe Biden who has made quite a mess of US foreign policy. Abbott must be having a dreadful time on social media.

Anybody know if those restaurants Steve talks about are highly rated or not? Going to London for a few days next month and thought about trying out the restaurants he has spoken about. I think one is Joe Allens and what's the Italian one he speaks about?

I've been to Joe Allens a few times and really enjoyed it. It's just by Covent Garden in Theatre Land.

It had to change locations a couple of years ago but the new venue is nice. The old venue was odd. It looked like you were going down some side street and into some dodgy doorway where there was a massive curtain you pulled back and went downstairs. It felt like you were going into some illicit speakeasy 😁

The other one he talks about is Little Italy. I've never been there.

I really like Julie Etchingham. I've been listening to her this afternoon and I'll like them to use her more.

I used to always watch News at 10 when it was her and Mark Austin Don't watch it anymore since Tom Bradbury became the main anchor Can't stand him
Is Shelagh off ill?
Agree, Julie Etchingham is excellent & would be a great addition to LBC
