I know from experience (not my own but someone who was close to me) that a lot of well-off people work in London media because they are the only ones who can actually afford to live in London as young-adults 'working' their way up the ladder. Mummy and Daddy usually pay for a nice little flat in Clapham. So, that rules out 'normal' working class young people who might want to live and work in London ... especially when a lot of intern roles are often unpaid.

Didn't she have cancer treatment recently? Maybe this has aged her?
 
Marr was interviewing (loosest sense of the word) someone he introduced as a 'Chinese Communist party spokesman' tonight. Utterly gobsmacking that Marr just let the spokesman rant on and on about Liz Truss, didn't even challenge the bloke when he said that her visiting Taiwan could hasten a Chinese invasion.

It would appear that having a guest on to give a Tory a kicking matters more than anything else, even if they represent a regime committing genocide on its people.

Maybe Marr was afraid of upsetting him because he wants an interview with someone higher-up in the Chinese political machine. You have to remember, the vast majority of the people you hear in broadcast media are ego-maniacs to one degree or another and want to get the next big 'scoop' or interview. :rolleyes:
 
Liz Truss would make a great double agent.She wouldn't crack under interrogation either. The Chinese are very wary of her..She could be Putin's Nemesis...

I'm a fan of Marr, but was surprised he let that appalling statement go unchallenged.

That's a great name for her....She'd be having a lot of warm flashes in those nicked hotel bathrobes..If she took up with mad Vlad she wouldn't need to plunder and filch. She'd be Putin on the Ritz day and night.

I don't think James got the reaction he was hoping for from caller Jaycee earlier. She was a Brexit voter and James tried his usual trick of trying to rile her but it didn't work.

He is so disingenuous. The lady was saying about immigrants in her area and James was 'how do you know?' and she made the mistake of saying 'you can tell' ... James obviously starts integrating her but she didn't rise to it. I think disarmed James a bit tbh.

If you've been brought up and live in an area you know when someone isn't local the minute they open their mouth, never mind skin colour.
It's the same reason I stick out a smile when I go on holiday to Spain. I do not look or sound Spanish. I could live there 20 years and would never be mistaken for a local.
 
Yes I heard that too and he certainly didn't get the reaction he wanted because she didn't rise to the bait. That's the way to deal with his nonsense.No doubt his toys were jettisoned during the break....

Ha! I turned on the radio at this exact point! You could almost smell James' wet farts of excitement thinking he had a 'gammon' on the hook. I've known some people from Leicestershire, I was desperate for her to say: "I can tell immediately they aren't born here because they don't look inbred". (that's what I would say anyway about where I live in the East anyway). :LOL: I really am amazed though he hasn't been pulled-up for bullying at some point in his career, I truly am.

I think because James has been in his meeja luvvie bubble for so long his social-skills are ********. Of course you can on most occassions tell if someone was born and raised in the area you live. It's called having life experience.
