Good old Lammy. We all know that he's basically a twit. Andrew seems to be digging himself in a hole too right now. LOL. Andrew is the worst kind of fascist. I'll be honest, he'd look wonderful in an SS uniform ... Tall, blonde, blue-eyes, a bit thick. I guarentee he would have signed-up for a low-level job with the Nazi's in an administative role. I do genuinely believe he wouldn't have the wherewithall to know what was happening at Auschwitz-Birkenau, he would argue that it was a 'labour camp' and actually believe it. Is ignorance an excuse? Of course not. But Andrew just seems like a useful idiot. Look at his career ... hitting a tennis ball, er ... that's it. :ROFLMAO:

Even Matt Frei has bailed-out. bleeping terrible show. Caller: "I'm a writer too ... not in the same league as Salman". Yeah, no tit. Not sure if you've had the displeasure to read Rushdie, imo it's tit. Almost as bad as Amis. No doubt Brian of Chiswick will be having a sad-wank over Rushdie. I won't,.

Ian Payne said he was taking over from Tom from next week.

I'm not sure if that's for a few weeks until September or for good? Id assume they'd want someone more serious for that slot.
 
That was nice! Andrew asked listeners to call in and tell us what has recently made them happy. Could do with more of that. Perhaps putting Ian P. in the late night slot is a start. For years Clive kept us entertained without uttering a serious word.

Whereas I agree with you it does sound good. However, I do think about people on shift work, who know if they switch on LBC they will hear discussion on the latest news, but instead they hear something completely different. I wonder if Capital (for example) listeners complain they want to hear something different from the Top 40 all day?! (Just heard Classic FM are going to play Top 40 music at 10pm !!!!!).

I didn't hear it. By the look of the 🤮🤮 emoji's @Maggie Moggy was unfortunate enough to catch her/them (not sure what pronouns are being used these days)
 
Abbot's show has been better than his usual Serious Sunday borefest, talking about climate, extreme heat, Salman Rushdie, Iran, nuclear deals.

The newsreader also had a coughing fit halfway through the bulletin, which was mildly amusing too.

And boy, haven't we all been paying the price for it ever since. Including his poor therapist. Look, I'm glad James is on national radio. No one is forced to listen to him. It's optional. But when he is in one of these self-absorbed almost delusional moods he's completely unlistenable for me. The bit I heard was when he was having a wet dream about hanging out with Amis, McEwan, and Hitchens, getting drunk together ... Geeezus. Look, I respect their work, but I think I'd rather get drunk with Steve Allen and Elaine Paige. :LOL:

Nothing quite so dramatic Big One, there was a pause...cough...attempt at read...ing new..s....cough cough...dead air...cough....
You could sense it was a really tickly cough, the type that overwhelms speech patterns
