I remember particularly Pauline from Sutton, she called in from Sutton (in Surrey) but had a strong Northern accent. You name it, she’d done it, not only that but before anyone else and better than anyone else. She was on the 10.00pm show practically every night. Not heard her for some years but I don’t often listen to that slot any more. Anyone else remember her ?

She’s often on BBC London, but not as much as she used to be.

To be honest I also love Nick Abbot's impression of the Northern Irish accent.
 
Really? Trying to scrape the barrel aren't they? I noticed that Steve is only allowing people he follows or knows to comment on his comments now. I wonder if that was due to the Tilly Ramsay outrage.

Steve Allen was going on and on about watch batteries again, the merits of Timpsons.
The other day it was how deep the River Thames was at certain places, 2 metres at Twickenham, 20 metres at London Bridge..."If I jumped off Waterloo Bridge..what would I land on..a shopping trolley?...imagine a shark or a whale swimming towards me..(shriek)"

James O'Brien has become obsessed with parties and cake it would appear. He will be furious when he finally realises that the police investigation is just another delaying tactic.

Maybe Nick should go to and from work everyday for a couple of weeks using public transport and see how he feels. ;)

Exactly this. I don't get what his problem is. The pandemic absolutely sped up the process of what was already happening. I am far more productive from home because I've not done an over 70 minute (each way) journey on the train and tube with armpits in my face. I spend that time for the company. I pay less travel, they pay less in exterminate rents. Win win for everyone.

It’s sounding all rather bitter and unnecessary. If staff want to be in the office more we can support that. We’re doing a hybrid approach. His rants on this make him sound extremely churlish and very old fashioned.

I know Majid could rant. I am missing his weekend shows though.

That's exactly the point, modern technology allows us to do both. Nick does indeed sound very bitter on that subject.

It was back in the 70s but when he mentioned it I did remember it from before.
An unmarried Miss World was an absolute scandal then, so well done Nick Ferrari’s dad for the scoop.
