He was given an awful lot of rope and he certainly hanged himself. What puzzles me is there must have been many people listening who support his views but they still won’t see how deluded they are. Well, maybe not deluded, just bigoted.

Yes, because one chosen caller who couldn't elucidate his opinions properly is representative of a whole group of people. That you follow up with the snidey lefty closed statement abuse says all we need to know about you.

Round 1 of the Stunak Show tonight...Get yer popcorn in!

Hope Dame Judi James( Other Body Language Experts Are Available) is primed to give us her professional assessment of all the hand gestures and eye contact with the camera. Or lack of. Cue Jeremy Kyle with his lie detector kits.

It’s always the same predictable shtick Isn’t it? It’s the same ones who always get nasty at gatherings. I can only assume it’s insecurity. The Angela Rayner “Tory scum” brigade. Ignore them.

Trouble is people care enough to subscribe to all the oversharing nonsense. They love it and it's now got very competitive so if you want to remain current and prominent you need to stand out from the rest of the attention-seeking desperadoes all vying for top spot.

Must be horrible working and trying to exist in that artificial environment. So fake and deeply unpleasant. I'm glad I'm old and don't need to keep up with that nonsense!
I can't say I've noticed much attention seeking from people who work in News and Current Affairs. I don't think listeners/viewers who are interested in this topic care much about the presenters' private lives. It's interesting to know a bit about their lifestyles and circumstances but I don't want too many details or constant reminders of how they are affected by the topics they are discussing. The only ones who got/get away with it were/are Steve Allen and Ian Payne, and they did/do it as entertainment.

The way I understand how it works at LBC is that whoever is the rank above producer likes 'the talent' to give some details about their personal lives in order to help 'form a bond' with the listener and therefore hope the listener will stay. I mean, who here doesn't want to know whether or not Mr O'Brien's lawn mower will or will not start-up this weekend? I'm a bleeping nervous wreck worrying about it frankly.

Fogarty will no doubt be discussing this at her next “”Wimmin’s Club Dinner” after she’s had three puddings and is getting stuck into the brandy and cigars with Moira Stuart, Pam St Clements and Claire Balding’s bird.

Yesterday was not a good day for Shelagh Fogarty

One of the worst consequences of mass social media in British politics is the unchecked empowerment of journalists as arbiters of 'truth'. As seen here and with numerous other journalists, it's very easy to be fooled, report something as 'fact', and then spread misinformation.

In the old days, a journalist reported the news, held people to account, or uncovered facts. That still happens now, but social media makes it much harder. Combined with the newfound need for so many journalists to give a 'take' (ala Jobby & co), it makes them de facto politicians alongside easily-led arbiters of dodgy info.

Oh, how I long for the days before 24-hour news and instant reaction via social media.

The people you mentioned (Jobby & co) aren't actually journalists, they are broadcasters. Anyone can do that 'job'. Journalists in the truest sense of the term are as rare as hens teeth now, at least compared to 'the old days'. I could go into some of the reasons for the decline ... but no one wants to hear that. :ROFLMAO: Besides, you probably have a fair idea anyway.

I'll say it again ... once Labour get in LBC and some of its presenters will be lost. The Tories are good, easy content. A bit like COVID was. It'll be a different media landscape with Starmer and Co.

At least he's worried about his herbaceous borders and not banging on about Brexit borders.

Anyone else seen Blue Lights on BBC One? And has anyone else noticed this character's resemblance to Jobby?! It's been bugging me for six whole episodes!

Yet another reason to avoid the no-longer-funny HIGNFY - Vorders is on tonight's show; although it could be unintentionally funny as she does her usual anti-Tory rant. She's another one who'll have to find another band-wagon to jump on when a Labour government start buggering up the economy.

I wonder if Iain Dale will get a mention or has everybody forgotten about his humiliating about turn?

That's quite creepy. They're both Irish. Perhaps they're related.
