What did Vorders do? The same thing The Mirror did? ie: Repeat stuff Bylines Times wrote that was subsquently found to be untrue? Realistically, is anything going to happen to her? A grovelling apology would be most satisfying, even though Wootten is a massive creep.

Living his best life then. :rolleyes: I'd love to see how some of these blokes like Dugmore, O'Brien etc. etc. would get on in some of the factories I've worked in over the years. They wouldn't last 5 minutes without having some sort of nervous breakdown or getting their heads caved-in. Although they have a national platform and speak to a wide-variety of people they don't seem to have led any sort of fully-formed life that has straddled different classes or worked closely with people from different educational backgrounds. Frankly, I veer between despising them, feeling sympathy or pity for them, or just not taking their schitck seriously on any level. Either way, a pretty dire state of affairs.

I remember a call James took, quite a while ago now, from a woman who lived in a poor, run down area that had a high refugee population and she was talking about the problems it caused and how the locals felt about it. She mentioned about property that was being given to refugees whilst there were local people who had been on the waiting lists for years, lots of non English speaking kids in the schools ... that kind of thing. James absolutely dismissed her and basically said she was lying.

I was absolutely fuming. She lived there. It was her everyday experience and he just dismissed it. He genuinely has no idea about anything outside of his bubble.

When I was at senior school, one of the nuns gave us a lesson on 'relationships' . basically, the facts of life. I have never forgotten it because she said 'I have read a lot of books so you can ask me anything'. That is how James has formed his views of life outside Chiswick.

Blandrew Castle is officially off the team sheet then? Can’t say I’m sorry, I’m just sorry they’ve given the job to that utter twit Wright. What with him, Gobby, manhater Sheila, Sangita Myska, Natasha Devon, Abbott, Dull, that other twit Olly, the station has completely lost its way.

It was absolutely dire. I switched on just after 4 and the divide he was creating made for really awful listening. He is so argumentative and arrogant. He was gleeful when he got his first person of colour caller, a female who said she was so alone, the only mixed race person in her work, wherever she goes and how isolated she fees. I am sure she was from the London area so I cannot believe she feels so isolated in her colour. He also never picked her up when she was referring to the previous caller from Shane in Edinburgh and she referred to him and other gay people as queers. When he said he was carrying on with that subject at 5 I switched off.

I think more and more callers are wising up to his tricks though?He just shuts them down when they refuse to back down and changes the subject.. I listened to 10 mins this morning of the usual bile and bitterness. He really has got a massive chip on his shoulder.

The problem with Andrew Castle going is that LBC has no idea at the moment who to bring in. I had genuinely forgotten about Natasha Devon for example and I am someone interested in LBC! Then there is the ongoing disaster which is Marina Purkiss. She is am example of the problem created by picking someone who makes a splash on social media. There's Vorders seemingly unaware of the libel laws even though we see others paying up.

Putting it another way, what is there to listen to these days on the LBC weekend schedule?

Not much if you like balance in your political discussions. Ali Miraj would suit me in the weekend 10am-1pm slot but perhaps he doesn't want to be tied down to a regular show.

I try to listen to at least some of Matt Frei on Saturdays, 10-1pm.

Ali Miraj is fair and respectful but I can understand why he doesn't want to be a regular fixture on LBC. Paul Brand too. At least Clammy Lammy's days are numbered unless he decides to continue with his Sunday morning sermons post-election when he's out and about pontificating.
 
O'brien started the hour at 11am proclaiming he wasn't interested in Lee Anderson and has now been talking about him for over 10 minutes.
