Not wishing to become one of those who condemn without listening, I gave Jobby a whole hour this morning to redeem himself. Sadly he merely confirmed my opinion that he is a spiteful, little man. Spiteful in that he is full of bile and little in that he will not give credence or a platform to opinions other than his own. He must be hell to live with.

Be Kind to Colin from Windsor.

He is probably going through severe withdrawal symptoms as he has not be able to listen to his tennis hero Andrew Castle for weeks now. He never used to miss a minute of his show.

He's wallowed in therapy for years. I wonder whether any one has suggested that he has a full psychiatric assessment? I can imagine him refusing to accept a potential PD diagnosis and accusing the psych of being influenced by right wing media/the DM.

He was genuinely funny when he first joined LBC, now he just thinks he is. He's always been a bit left wing but not offensively so, screaming abuse at Tory politicians. I think Brexit sent him bonkers, as it did many people.

I agree. I can recall a time when I used to think "I'll tune in to that presenter with the nice voice and interesting programme" ...and yes re Brexit I know of people who dumped friends of many years due to their Brexit vote.
 
Not sounding good for Ian's Mum; he's very worried. It's a nightmare when somebody dies around Christmas. Places you need to inform so you can make arrangements etc. are closed until the new year and you feel stuck in limbo. I speak from experience because, many years ago, my husband died on Christmas Eve. And when do you inform friends and family? Straight away and spoil their celebrations or wait and make them feel guilty for enjoying themselves?
 
What an absolutely awful situation for you, Maggie..Dealing with tragic bereavement at such a horrible time of year when normally you would hope to rely on support from family and friends but feel you can't encroach on their festivities etc etc..There just aren't any "rules" for this but it was good of you to think of others when you must have felt absolutely bereft..

Poor Ian...He is steeling himself for the inevitable. I hope she stays as stable as possible over Christmas and New Year. It;s his birthday tomorrow too.
 
I haven't listened to Ian Payne these last couple of days but was wondering how his mum is. He did say earlier in the week she was getting out of hospital on Thursday so not sure if that happened.
