Myska is a terminally tedious, humourless, whiny drone and Natasha Devon is just an awful apology of a human being

None of these people have anything in common with the average listener, that's part of the problem imo. Not just Myska or Natasha ... almost all of them. I just can't warm to them at all. I reckon if I listen to LBC for more than an hour a week it's rare these days. Which is a shame, because I quite like posting comments in this thread! 😬

The only one I can barely stand is Tom Swarbrick, he is a good questioner

I sometimes tune in to the first 30mins of Iain Dale when he does the roundtable discussion bit at 8pm. I used to listen to Marr, but I've gone right off him, I think partly because of his overly dramatic performative presenting style. I've all but given up on O'Brien, his schtick is so bleeping stale.

You should follow the example of the Other Place and listen to presenters you dislike, then you can post reams of comment criticising them. I've just endured an hour of Oli Dugmore, not because I like or agree with what he says but because I've been trying to work out who he reminds of. The toneless, staccato speech pattern, very fast then slowing down for emphasis, pausing between each word. Jobby, yes, but then I noticed he throws in 'yeah?' for special emphasis and it dawned - he's Rickie Gervais doing David Brent!

I used to like Iain Dale but I can’t even stand him anymore. What an oddball he’s turned out to be. And it all started when he started doing the Sky News paper reviews. Bit of telly and it went right to his head, now he thinks he’s some sort of celebrity with his Edinburgh Festival residencies. He’s a lightweight, boring interviewer and when he starts blubbing on air over emotional stories… we’ll just pathetic. Man up you pathetic twonk.

44 years and your yesterday's radio equivalent of fish and chips paper. There's nothing about this station's output that appeals now. Tuned in and out today, somebody calling Ben Kentish 'Ken' was the highlight. Myska is a terminally tedious, humourless, whiny drone and Natasha Devon is just an awful apology of a human being

Listening figures falling fast and management being shaken up, you're welcome to it with Colin and his circle jerk of morons.

I do wonder why so many people listen any longer. I'll be honest I used to enjoy LBC a few years ago when I first started listening. Since then Steve Allen has been pushed out and the station is full of boring presenters (barring maybe a couple who are okay) who drone on about the same subjects all day long and it's become an echo chamber. Speech radio is becoming less appealing for me these days. I still enjoy it more than music stations, but it's hard to find the right station for me. Times Radio can be good, Talktv/radio has it's positives (not great though), LBC is meh, and there's very little else out there.

I saw him at a 'talk' (is that what it's called)? at a nearby university. Came across as a bit of an arrogant prick. I can't work him out tbh.

It's funny you should mention the newspaper review thing, the actual format is flawed because rather than review the stories, the people they have on usually spend all their time pushing their personal agenda (be it left-leaning or right-leaning), no important subject can be adequately discussed in a two minute soundbite anyway, it's utterly pointless. I just want to know what the papers are reporting and why they are reporting it and perhaps what they think of the piece as a whole ... is it fair? Is it unfair? Why? Who wrote it? Does that make sense?

I would take that further as Myska and Devon are James O'Brien clones whose show is essentially I agree with James.

That creates a problem as it simply spreads his miserable approach to the weekends.

But if we stay with Myska she made quite a fool of herself on the Farage issue. She was only saved because nobody knows or cares what she thinks. I only have some idea because I am interested in LBC.

Which leads to a question many of us have posed on here. What is the point of LBC at the weekends these days? Looking back I remember fondly the Ken and Dave show which had what is missing these days is balance. I sometimes see David Mellor on GB News and whilst in some ways you wonder what he is up to he still has some gravitas. What LBC presenters have that now?

is she discussing women's issues or social care? They're her favourite topics.

Probably encouraging people to call-in with harrowing personal tales of woes directly caused by the Tories.

Whenever a male caller is getting the better of Fogarty she gets all shirty and starts accusing them of speaking over her. She literally has the ultimate power of the fade button and she moans about being spoken over by men. She never does it with female callers.

I've noticed that. I do wonder if she's ever listened to LBC because that's how most of the interactions go between callers and presenters.

In fairness to Shelagh she did have an awful time with a stalker a little while ago so maybe she has a reason for being so wary.

James does that too, he'll start interrupting callers. Ferrari just plays the 'wind on a busy street' soundtrack and pretends that he has to cut them off because of a terrible line.

I cannot believe that Oli Dugmore has been given a second chance after turning up late a couple of weeks ago. I listened to a bit of him yesterday morning and switched off after 5 mins. I gave him a second chance this morning and he was just awful. So patronising to anyone who does not share his opinion. Reminds me too much of JOB.

I am warming to Colin Brazier who I think has improved over the weeks and doesn't come across as brash as he did at the start. Looking forward to Ali Miraj in the 10pm slot next week.
