Also...just because I'm a woman - and I do consider myself a feminist - why do I have to like all women? Some women are DICKS. Why do I need to "be kind" to those people? Does my head in.

Some women are very much agents of patriarachy in that they perpetuate misogyny and sexist tropes about women...you're not just innocent because you're a woman/feminist! I'd say there are great number of female agents of the patriarchy represented on this site
 
I feel sad for poor Geofforoid. When Princess Kathleen is poorly she gets weighted on hand and foot, duvet on the sofa and brow mopped while she puts on the "feel sorry for me" sulky lip. Geofforoid gets shoved upstairs to bed when he's ill, all alone while she plays video games downstairs.

She’s using IWD as a cover to try to gain pity because of all the big horrible meanies on the naughty website 🙄 she doesn’t get criticised on here because of her gender. She often gets criticised because she routinely forgets to properly declare ads, makes lazy and vague ‘content’ (for her JOB), gets gifted extravagant things without ever checking her privilege. Being a woman doesn’t afford her immunity from being accountable. I hope daddy G can make her a nice duvet day to cushion the blow.

As a woman, it’s a shame that she’s spaffing this opportunity she has with her platform up the wall by being a complete stereotypical basic bitch/parody of herself. It should be a platform for creatives with something useful/interesting to engage your viewers with.
it’s such a shame that entitled greedy brats who r too thick to do any other job are diluting this space.
 
Often their (influencers) untrained advice, their showing off of their free products, meals, holidays, cars and houses followed by encouragement to spend (overspend) by getting the same or similar items usually by clicking on their links (so they benefit financially from encouraging others to spend) all of this harms their audience (largely other women) Katie even had a removal service for her move gifted to her for free in exchange for social media coverage.
 
I haven't seen the IWD post so forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but.

A. IWD isn't about saying 'yay for all women' regardless of their behaviour. It's about striving for equality and celebrating achievements. Not 'be kind to me all the time because I am a woman'. Also not just about sharing photos of the other privileged middle class women in your life who you find so inspiring.
B. I'd argue that Katie exploits and benefits from her (probably younger) female followers' insecurities. For example, her weird Q&As where she shares people's personal questions for content, answers questions that she isn't qualified or informed enough to answer, and flogs sponsored products. Remember that online blow job course? Even when she fails to disclose when something is an AD or kindly gifted (like the multiple facials) it's shady AF. Because of the nature of the brands she chooses to work with and how she conducts herself online I'd argue that any post she shares about IWD or about being kind is disingenuous, or hypocritical.
C. I agree that there are some misogynistic posts on this website and often female creators are held to higher standards than their male counterparts. But a lot of influencer content and advertising in general is targeted towards women and preys on their insecurities. If you're making a living off this then you're part of the problem. If you're working with brands, or even show products from brands, who have questionable ethics, exploit their (often female factory workers for fast fashion brands) workers etc then you're part of the problem. Yes, a lot of us still buy from brands whose values don't align with our own but that's often down to necessity and we're not making money off it or using it to prop up our lifestyle of gorgeous little brunches and date nights every other day. Buying from shitty brands then promoting the shitty brands in order to make more money is a choice.
D. She never talks about gender equality, women's rights, anything of any depth really. But is more than happy to share the details of her extravagant lifestyle and her tone deaf woes. Just an observation, I'm sure no one wants influencers to educate them.
 
Sorry for the double post. Katie shows all the very generous presents she's bought for G in this week's vlog and summarises with 'It's not much but I feel like they're very thoughtful gifts.'..... Over £400 of birthday presents is a stretch for most people and saying how it isn't much is definitely her tone deaf moment of the week. And she's taking him out for dinner. She's no idea has she?

Nothing about the plot of the film, Florence's character, maybe who she related to when watching the film. No, just a rollercoaster of emotions and that she enjoyed it. Wow, thanks Kath 🙄

I have tried some of these. The lipstick one smells sour, like a cheap men's body spray. Definitely not creamy. Vanilla one is ok, but smells like a car air freshener, eventually goes sour too. They just don't work with my skin. Haven't tried the other one and frankly don't want to. Getting the set of miniatures from Juliette has a gun was the only time Katie influenced me to try something and it wasn't money well spent 🥲

It’s giving “bare minimum”. Unfortunately, there are plenty like her who do the minimum required in their jobs and don’t get pulled up on it.
 
I also watched the vlog. I can't fathom influencing being your job and in her vlog she goes to an event for Bailey's and fails to review the new drinks, and goes to a restaurant and fails to say what the food is like. I just don't understand why show a split second of something and then never speak of it again?

She actually seemed emotionally distressed 'decluttering' her pyjama wardrobe. She really does have an issue around hoarding. And if you hate decluttering so much stop cluttering and you won't have to?!

We found out G likes a pricey clothes brand but given her description he clearly wears things out before buying more and is buying items that last...no idea how this hasn't influenced her to do something similar given that she seems to follow him in everything else.

I also can't fathom deciding sleeping on the sofa because your partner is ill (which makes no sense to me) and then complaining that your sleep has been poor because you've been sleeping on the sofa. Don't then? Do they not have a spare bed? Do they not have people to stay ever?
