The coverage of his death feels very invasive and I worry what impact that will have on his children. Every aspect about their Dad’s decline and death is online forever now.
I also read a headline that ITV would ‘of course’ consider Kate for a This Morning role as she’ll likely have to sell her home. Whilst selling family home because of a death is difficult, the house is worth a great deal so it’s not like they would be homeless.
I did think it was sweet Darcey helped carry her dad’s coffin. Must have been a difficult day for them.

Also , maybe it might be nicer for them all to have a new home. One they can actually afford as surely there would be money left . Then maybe Kate can be there for the kids and not working all the time . A new home which doesn’t have the memories of their dad being really poorly .
 
Yes - it does seem odd that the mortgage wouldn’t be paid off.

Regarding the media coverage of the funeral, yes the paps are sharks on many an occasion but I genuinely think they wouldn’t cover a funeral to that level without an invite/tip off. It’s horrifying and must have been so terrifying and overwhelming for those children.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it. Imagine using a sick relative to boost your own profile. I honestly don't know what's wrong with these sicko's. And WE get called out for pointing this out?! World gone mad. The normalization of narcissism is a massive problem right now ... you only have to look at Trump in the US to figure that out. Sick.

God yes. How long do we think untill she reveals her new love? Over or under 12 months? I guess it's dependent on how long she can milk Derek for. I suspect Derek 'councilled' her on all the dark arts of media manipulation, plus she has a team of PR consultants to advise her. I'm going to say the autumn, that's when she'll reveal 'her rock', with a full issue of OK! Magazine devoted to her and her new beau. I'll wager he won't be a short of a few bob and they'll tie the knot sometime next spring ... "Derek told me to find love again in a dream".
 
I’m unsure why we’re meant to feel sorry for her financial worries. If you have a tax bill of £700k then you earned a substantial amount of money. If you didn’t account for the tax then that’s on you! Also why was there no life insurance?! What is this current trend of having no life insurance. I’m a stay at home mum and we’ve no mortgage, I still have life insurance. I do not understand anyone with children who doesn’t

Exactly it, the actor who is playing Ken Barlow is going bankrupt for second time, this time due to not paying his tax, yes mistakes are made but these people can afford hot shot accountants.

Kate is on and absolute fortune and could pay that bill. She is on an estimated 544,000 just for GMB alone never mind her other jobs at smooth and such.

I feel a lot more sorry for many unpaid carers who are facing real financial woes.

The coverage at Derek's funeral was similar to/ if not more than what an A list celeb would receive. Kate has organised all of this. The latest ITV advert of Kates return to GMB with the attention seeking sombre shot of her in a car is just another example of work horse kate putting on a brave face and that we should salute and commend her strength and bravery. If she was a genuinely caring person she would've kept as much of the situation as private as possible.
