There were a few that worshipped at the alter of Stepford Kat,
There definitely were! Quite a few were right up her backside as I recall.

I remember that, wasn’t it because she thought the name was too popular and said child might possibly not be unique in the classroom. Preposterous woman!

That can’t be true, really?!
It was

I think you can change your baby’s name up to a year without using deed poll. This was from memory from when Kat did it. It was Atticus to Arlo or vice versa.

I don’t remember anyone being particularly up her arse. You might be mistaking the general supportiveness of that forum for arse licking.

Kat was a prolific poster. Most of the women who had plenty of time on their hands were.

Every " influencer" is all about money. They'd all sell their souls for cash. Even the decent ones!

Pascale is only 40? Bloody hell.

So the other Blonde Plastics are in pretty, linen, summery outfits and our Kat is in a horrid knitted tube and a greasy winter hat. Can she really not see how awful she looks? If she sorted the hair once and for all I'm assuming the hats could go!
I can never believe Pascale is a year older than me. I don’t know why I can’t get my head round it.

I think she presented herself and her life as very aspirational and as such some people were in awe. Big house, hot shot husband, money, posh kids names, dinner parties.

But it was all an illusion because underneath she's was bored, lonely, unfulfilled and on meds for depression certainly at one point.

There were lots of women on Damsels similarly bored and lonely I think so seeing someone who seemed to have it all also feeling the same was comforting and connecting. And also there was a certain Schadenfreude.

She definitely had an aspirational lifestyle which was generally out of reach for a lot of posters.

I didn’t find her or her lifestyle aspirational tbf, we are very different!

I think what jarred for me on Damsels was she is that type of person who manages to create a following, very subtly. She has a way of including and excluding, and like school if you’re excluded you want to be on the inside.

so she’d reply and be lovely to her cronies with similar lots of money/high powered jobs/beauty and fashion lifestyles. Those excluded would be replying and desperately fishing for her attention.

For example she’d go to damsels meets and be lovely to everyone, but have arranged to do things with selected people after.

Weird, but I suppose not unusual. Bit like school cliques where you’re better being friends with the top dog.
