Without their loyal followers they would have no engagement and so would be of no interest to brands.

This is the key fact that the instaworld seems to have forgotten. You'd get none of the freebies, the adverts, the collabs or the TV and book deals without the followers. If it's a job then be professional. Relatable: yes. Grubby and shambolic: no.
But most of all, treat the followers with respect and not like dispensable idiots.

I agree with so much that’s been said. I definitely miss the old Kat, I just want clothes!
That being said I also think influencing has moved on and Kat has not moved with it.
It does feel that success has made her lazy and arrogant. She has so much time to work on her content now and it’s so poorly done.

I think lots of us miss Kat in her peak years and that’s gone.

I also feel I’ve had her bleating on for a year about her 50th and we are at it again with her 51st. It’s all very self absorbed and dull.

I used to follow The Silver Kat years ago and just looked again and wow her photos have gotten so profesh! I refollowed to see how that goes.

I used to follow loads back then but I've forgotten half of them. Only one I miss and I can't remember her name or account - she worked in an office and took photos in her garden every day. All work clothes mostly but jeans and trainers the rest of the time. I liked her. No drama and wearable clothes. Was she schoolgatestyle or something? Maybe not. It was back in my Mumsnet years.

But then MN started a war against mum bloggers basically (anyone remember that? Kat came on to defend herself) and I unfollowed virtually all of them. Sure some of them were full of gifted stuff and some were (and are still) very performative - who is that one who dresses like she's going to Glastonbury every day and takes photos of herself wearing hot pink sequins on the seafront in Brighton or wherever? Nah, not for me!

But now I basically just follow YStyleIreland who is great for discount codes and very chill and doesn't do campaigns. But I miss getting inspo from other people my own age.

Dress Like a Mum is the sequin one!
And yes Silver Kat is still very stylish and classy!

school gate style changed their name to AvrilKeysblog on insta. Still very down to earth. less fashion now as she’s working full time but I like following her nonetheless.
Used to follow Poppy’s style too but she’s given the fashion blogging up now xx

Wearsmymoney is not for me - just had a look at her feed & that weird embroidered vesty gilet thing and the cardigan with sparkly bows put me right off.

I used to follow a woman from Macclesfield who was into all that House of Colour stuff. She was quite good & covered fashion for a range of skintones and shapes (unlike Kat), but her husband bought a CBD business & then it was ads for it 24/7 - unfollowed. Also, I used to like a Welsh woman with dark hair, though she then bacame vegan and started boring on about it so I abandoned her, too. Not sure if anyone can remeber who these people are, based on my crap deascriptions :)

I quite like Wears My Money’s flat lays and styling suggestions even if I really don’t go for a fair bit of what she wears (those square toes shoes recently were horrific).

I also quite like Chloe Loves To Shop. Have seen ppl be rude about her on here but I think she looks great and she also seems quite nice and doesn’t pretend her life is fabulous all the time.

Oh memory lane!
Thefashionlift is a bit boring but she does have an eye for an outfit
Chloelovestoshop is a self obsessed princess, but her feed is much better than it used to be. I don’t hate it.
The Silver Kat is great- they are all quite short though so it’s outfit inspiration rather than, that’s a great skirt I’ll buy that. It’s going to be much shorter on me!

Poppy style came back to the U.K. didn’t she?

Wearsmymoney was better in the days when she worked at Warner, but I don’t mind her. I think she’s become quite conservative in the last few years.

Dress like a Mum was more Dress like a Wally in my eyesbut to each their own.

Avril always seemed nice and normal.

Yes, I remember when the MN tide turned. Interesting how they were all go to outfit inspiration. Remember when M&S did a show collab with them all?

Oh it wasn't her after all.....the woman I'm thinking of was blonde. Gah! That's going to drive me nuts!

EDIT: I FOUND HER! It was My Fashionable 40s! I found her through this thread which might bring back a few memories here : https://tattle.life/threads/19920/
(ah shite, Tattle won't let me link it, but just Google Mumsnet + Style blogs for the over 40s and you'll get it. Poppy and Midlife Chic pop in!

Sadly she seems to have disappeared in 2017 but if anyone knows her IG, let me know!

Yes! Lived in the north, big house that backed onto a golf course. She was married to an ex football manager and they moved to an enormous house which there was a bit of backlash for and then disappeared. I guess around the time people became wise to the fact people were using instagram to burgle you!
She seemed pretty down to earth, but they were obviously minted.

Or that was another one 😂

Poppystyle is back in the USA now, she has an Instagram account.

Myfashionable40s, I used to follow her, actually still do but just checked and she hasn’t posted since 2021, I wonder what happened to her? I enjoyed her feed and blog. She didn’t have piles of clothes but nice wearable everyday clothes.

I liked My Fashionable 40s as well but she renamed her account and hasn't been active on Insta for a few years.

I don't follow any of the fashion accounts anymore (unfollowed Kat after the headscarf incident). I realised they never showed anything I could realistically wear on a packed Jubilee line train at 8am on a rainy Tuesday.

I remember her as well!

Was her name Julie?
