Tbf the London place is what a 25mins by train from where everyone assumes the kids are. Surely one is at uni, the other assumed boarding so only one at home? I don't get the big deal here, driving locally could take that long.

if they've been mainly around a nanny most of their life anyway as some of you suggest I doubt they're that phased about it atm but might be later in life.

we also don't know who made what decision and the circumstances with the kids.

25 minutes by train, then the time to get to the train station, wait for train and then when you get to destination, no car to jump into so a walk/bus/taxi (and then the reverse journey). So not so easy to do even the odd school collection or drop off, be close by for a lunch out, be available to collect from a night out, to just be a close by presence even. Not so easy to spend a night with during the week or indeed the weekend where most teenagers will want to be close to their friends and hobbies. One may be at boarding school, but school holidays take up a good chunk of the year, one child is still in school.

Pre divorce, even when they lived as a family unit, she jumped at every chance to get away from there. She’d attend the opening of someone’s bowels if it got her away from that house (added bonus if there was alcohol and a gift bag involved).

Classic example was the crying in the car because she had to go to Dubai for “work commitments” and her middle child was “really struggling”. The work commitments turned out to be a two hour talk, she stayed in Dubai for a week.

It’s curious because this arrangement works best when both parties live close to each other and are easily accessible by all the older children , whenever they feel like it.
A 25 minute train journey isn’t that.

Kat decided to try and return to her pre marriage pre child life, without thinking it through. It seemed odd and it didn’t seem like the repercussions of this change would work very well. Well, Kat seems pretty miserable lately, so maybe that’s a contributing factor.

To be fair to Kat though, she is going through a highly emotional time, she seems to react in a highly emotional way rather than logically thinking things throughly out.

On the other hand she’s in her 50’s and her kids are still teens so maybe, just maybe, she should still be putting their needs first.

To be fair though, the struggling child had two parents and I'll bet Mr F had had his share of being out of the house 8-8 every day or staying away over the years.

Absolutely, there are two parents and I’d judge man or woman for living a distance from their children when there doesn’t seem and apparent need to, And I would judge any parent, man or woman, for going on a work trip and what could have been a fly in and out scenario, to,
extend it to just over a week, in order to sit by a pool for days.

And I’m guessing Mr Farmer had to work long hours, a regular 9 - 5 would never have brought them the lifestyle they had.

Fair point - I think she thought she'd enjoy being a Home Counties mummy with the associated £ when she agreed to it, but she actually hated the reality, hence hotfooting it back to London once the mariage ended and - as you say - realising that was a disater, but with 10 months left on the lease.

Bloody darts 🤯 I’ve lost my patience with her that she’ll turn it around & finally unfollowed. I can’t see who she appeals to. It seems she’s lost her M&S contract, perhaps John Lewis too but she’s not doing anything style-wise anymore. Desperately sweeping H&M for a going-out dress before Christmas 😬 How the mighty fall! What happened to all her Stella McCartney, Theory, etc? I understand with her weight loss there might be a fitting issue with her old clothes but people in the know (& with her means) usually have a tailor on hand. Her viewing numbers on the wine time with Helen lives are lowest of all which tells you that’s not what her core followers are there for & is totally bizarre she’s pursuing it as a direction. I cannot believe she’s been signed up as a health/wellness ambassador for the upcoming cruises, surely (is it P&O?) must’ve looked at her & her lifestyle recently & had a rethink. Unless she has an epiphany onboard & uses her time there to learn & turn things around she’s going to become an example in the future of people on SM who ‘lost it all’ 🫤

I've suspected that. Giving up driving is very peculiar. Giving up a car, possibly but taking public transport everywhere? Nah. She passed her driving test quite late and was utterly overjoyed, lived driving and having a nice car. Something has happened. I hate driving but I'd rather gnaw my own arm off than give it up!
Hmm it does seem odd. Unless her car wasn’t ULEZ compliant and there’s no parking near her flat. It did seem very odd that she got the train to Aldeburgh. And you’d think she’d want a car so she can visit the kids, go and see her daughter at uni etc.

Was thinking about this - it's probably a hundred times easier to shill skincare (comes in the post, then you read the label to camera while trying to be enthusiastic about its miracle properties on your wine-dessicated skin) than to produce something about fashion - involves leaving the house, trawling shops etc, hence the change in her content. It's all so desperate and sad.

Oh dear - her accounts are overdue, too (was looking up if she'd had a DOE conviction). What a mess.

She’s not in any way aspirational now so I can’t see how she influences anyone. Definitely not with hair, skincare and make up and now clothes - she wears the same old stuff and that ridiculous hat. Her appeal was her style, self deprecation and her humour - yes she’d buy high end bits but it was mostly accessible and easy for people to emulate. And now that she doesn’t talk about her family and do the dog walk every day, there’s nothing relatable about her at all. I miss watching the old Kat.
