This week’s podcast is so mind numbingly boring you’d nearly miss Karla and her ridiculous overly confident (and inaccurate) proclamations. Jen is interviewing a guy who travelled across Europe in a camper van and of course she just has to get in the fact that she spent a summer in Greece as if that is even remotely the same thing

I haven't listened yet but I'm so glad she doesn't have that melt Ali back on this week. Even though K & J are an odd combination I don't enjoy the podcast any other way. The guests they have on are usually so random and neither have the skills to extract the best from a guest.

Yeah the Killian episode really showed how little Jen understands basic topics. Her ignorance about other cultures comes across as borderline racist at some points. Didn’t realise how much Karla balanced it until these episodes

She has said a few things on the pod over the years that have come across as borderline racist to me. If they were well known she would probably be cancelled by now for the ignorant tit she spouts

Can’t quite recall off the top of my head but she has said some ignorant things about different nationalities on the pod and has made broad generalisations. I wouldn’t say racist but I think she has come close enough to the bone a few times

I recall two separate incidents of her saying things that could be perceived as racism. I'm not going to say what until I fact check myself. If I find the episodes I'll drop in the details and timestamp but im sure it's needle in a haystack. I clearly remember I was driving along recently enough when I heard one of them and couldn't believe my ears.

Yeah so weird. I can’t imagine liking American food that much, I always feel grim anytime I’m there.

also you can get a few of those items in Fallon&Byrne - definitely Tajin and those el yucateco hot sauces- I know because I’ve bought them without carting them personally across the Atlantic.
It’s like she’s compelled to just spend wastefully.

I have family in America and I have to say, I'm the exact same as Karla when I go over half my suitcase is full of American snacks that we can't get here. I'm well jel at some of what she bought. I definitely would have bought back Swedish Fish and Peanut Butter snacks!

But why though ? It’s not like it was even 5 years ago. The vast majority of these foods can be found in Ireland now online or even in some Larger Supermarkets in the international foods isle. Just a bit excessive spending 60 dollars to bring food home

The American food imports here cost an absolute fortune. You'd burn thriyfh the extra €60 and more buying the same things here
