The phrase 'imperfect victim' has come up recently.

Which is interesting because in Dr Anderson's testimony she described the domestic violence/abuse, as mutual. Dr Hughes stated that there was no such thing as 'mutual abuse', and to suggest there is is tantamount to 'victim blaming'. As we know from her testimony, Dr Hughes is of the opinion that because of the size difference between men and women (using the traditional meaning of those words) the woman cannot be the abuser - apparently a woman can't recklessly throw a kitchen knife as well as a man, and a woman pushed under a tram during a row will suffer more injury than a man being pushed under a tram (?).

And, apparently, the reason Amanda de Cadanet (and others) fell out with Amber was when she heard the audio of the arguments.

And it isn't surprise that so much of the chimping, astroturfing and pearl clutching.... sorry journalism.... in recent weeks (since Amber changed her PR team) has focused on the 'gender wars' and how it is unfair to Amber because.... well.... she isn't the perfect victim.

But this overlooks something....

And no, it isn't that it has long been known that in domestic violence the woman is often the more abusive partner (for various fairly obvious reasons, if you bother to think about it (and no it isn't being judgemental)) but in general is more likely to either get more injured, or have more signs of injury (for various fairly obvious reasons, if you bother to think about it (and no it isn't being judgemental)).

But none of this is at issue in this trial. It is a factor, but it shouldn't be overlooked that Ms Heard had at least twice (Doug Stanhope and Mr Depp) tried to sue for defamation for suggesting that she wasn't the 'Perfect Victim'. And, presumably, the reason she got the gig with the ACLU and the UN to speak (with nice pay) about domestic violence against women (children and LGBTQ+) is because she was the 'Perfect Victim'.

It's why on that tape she is so worried about her reputation. And says 'tell the world that I Johnny Depp am the victim of domestic violence too.'

The reason this trial is happening because of the accusation of sexual violence.

It doesn’t matter if the ridiculing happened after the trial or not though. It just matters that it is currently happening. Because it’s during the current trial that the details of the domestic abuse allegations became most exposed to the public. The U.K. trial wasn’t against Amber and it wasn’t publicly televised.

my point is that it isn’t *just* people saying that her behaviour is a bit odd, there’s a lot of vitriol aimed at her. Theres name calling. Theres disinformation on the trial itself being spread on social media. Johnny Depp is being weird too during the trial but there isn’t the same level of hatred or aggression towards him.

I’m saying it isn’t *just* misogyny but it’s undeniable that there are misogynistic elements to it

As mentioned a few threads back, a lot of disinformation started to spread when she switched the PR company, so there is a possibility that her own PR is spreading it in order to be able to point out how unfair the public is to her and how she is being wronged. (To show her as a victim once more). And it seems to work. As there is an increasing number of people who state that although they think she is a liar, she does not deserve this. Not to mention the coordinated/choreographed attack by some major publications in defence of Amber Heard. Instead of blaming her for damaging#MeToo, they blame the public, going even so far as to claim that the people who do not believe Amber Heard are right-wing extremists and misogynists. As a feminist and activist myself, someone who has volunteered in a women's crisis centre for many years and witnessed hundreds of women who are really victims + have witnessed several men who are victims of IPV, my opinion is that what is happening is major gaslighting and I find it rather unforgivable. They are twisting the narrative to be about gender, whereas for most people (at least pretty much all the ones I know) it is about an abuser trying to pretend to be a victim and gaining lots of influence and money by doing so, and now perhaps finally being exposed.

It is not dissimilar to the playbook Kremlin is using. Perhaps some of you remember how there was a blonde lady rushing to the Moscow TV-studio during the evening news to wave a sign "Stop the War". Not only did she not get punished for it (many people in Russia have "vanished" for good for far less), she gained popularity and especially in the West. Which was the aim of this FSB operation -- to make the Western people symphathise with the ordinary Russians and perhaps the public opinion can sway the politicians to go easier on sanctions against Russia. Seems to work to an extent. And as there are been many "information operations" as the FSB calls them (and most of them we will not recognise; if it were just trolls, it would be easy, but it is much moe subtle and clever), we have come to the point where reputable publications are penning opinion peaces that Ukraine should seek peace at any cost and give their territories to Russia so Putin would not lose his face. It is a worrying trend.

(And in my eyes there is a direct parallel to how media is trying to brainwash us regarding Amber Heard.)

So today the last of Heards witnesses. Heard rests her case. They'll be a motion to strike today probably if time allows by Depps side. Emily D said there is a possibility the judge might stike due to Heard having no evidence. Then Depp brings his rebuttal witnesses.

On a serious note, I would feel so unnerved if I was in that jury. She is constantly eyeballing them, it’s so bizarre
