Consider an MP who calls himself a "Catholic" but disregards the teaching of the Church and just proclaims the things he thinks people want to hear, a person with no integrity or principles. I know of at least one such MP, and let me tell you it's not Jacob Rees-Mogg!

I’m sure there’s not many MPs with integrity or principles , you can’t abide and proclaim the teachings of the church and be liberal and open to all, its one or the other.I’m including P.Francis in there too.

I'm not mentioning any names, but I know who I'm talking about, because I've heard it from his own mouth. If someone doesn't respect Catholic teaching, then they really shouldn't claim to be Catholic. It's not rocket science! 🚀

So JRM only follows the basic beliefs then ? We know true Catholicism cuts off certain members of society I never seen a true one yet.

If you don't claim to be a Catholic I wouldn't expect you to defend Christianity. "We," I presume is yourself and other non-Catholics who know little about the Church, nor want to.

You don't need to be Catholic or Christian to know what the teaching are ,you only need to google it fgs ...you can't defend one of the more corrupt religions in the world by saying people don't understand it if they're not part of it ,that's only an excuse .

I don't listen to people who criticise OTHERS' beliefs and ethics, I'm more interested in what exactly they believe themselves. You sound Secular Humanist/Atheist - am I right?

If JRM is a true catholic he believes homosexuality is a sin. If he has liberal views, he goes against the teachings of the church. Catholics are supposed to believe that any sex that is not for procreation is sinful, hence, homosexuality is a sin. Not my beliefs but it's certainly what I was taught. There are many other areas where JRM goes against the teachings of the Catholic Church, so let's not pretend here that he is a true catholic.

I don't know why you think it's OK to be so rude and are unable to engage in any discussion without resorting to demands about what other people need to declare. Religion has nothing to do with his position but you seem to be waiting for anyone to comment and then jump in

Eh? Your demigod consistently voted against gay rights and marriage between two people of the same sex. That's not liberal.

And he's hardly a champion of women's rights saying that abortion should be banned, even if the pregnancy is owning to a woman being raped.
