Jack is going to absolutely do a chaos when the boy starts to rebel and realise he has more fun around his friends and his Dad and family than he does eating stale bacon and potato cakes (27p). She’s doing that classic narcissistic thing of needing a crutch and someone to depend on her - this is where the dog idea is coming from as she needs to replace her son as he is distancing himself obviously. Her way of keeping him close is to utterly baby him which is going to have a massively detrimental effect on his development - one can only hope his Dad is providing a better upbringing and quality of food.

Someone said in the last thread that Jack is projecting her narcissism, Louisa wants a dog so she does. Entirely correct. She doesn’t have her own personality or own style, own thoughts, everything is from people she has met over the years and drained them of everything they have. Louisa and Jack deserve each other, gleefully doing childish acts in a supermarket at their age because she can’t sell the books normally is pathetic.

Jack needs specialist mental health assistance because her behaviour isn’t normal, it’s so erratic and feeding your son shite to prove a point that she can use yellow sticker stuff is not only disgusting, it’s downright dangerous feeding a kid days out of date crap.

so let me get this straight - she’s telling her 10 year old son he can’t walk home alone with his friends like other kids his age because there are evil stalkers out there that will put him in grave danger? Yet keeps constantly posting about him? That is so messed up. Making him paranoid and scared but also not practicing even the most basic safeguarding l. Textbook narc parent.

Why do they ask?
Can I put it in a curry - yes
Can I have it in a sandwich - yes
Can I freeze it - yes
Can I repoint the side of my house with it - yes
Can I keep it and let it fester until it crawls out of the bottle and kills me that way- yes

has she got a food hygiene certificate?

After all, the alternative is being in Year 7 and having to go out on your own for the first time for a significantly longer distance, earlier in the morning/in the dark with buses, trains, trams, long walks, dodgy kids from other schools (or the ones that are in the year above) - and then possibly still not managing it and getting to 16/18 without ever having travelled independently.

Pesto's actually called pesto because you're meant to make it with a mortar and pestle (NOT a Nutribullet), I think. I've made pestos with toasted almonds and cashews before (lovely with roasted red peppers). I've been a bit scared of pine nuts ever since some stories about Chinese ones making you lose your sense of taste, though now I type that out I realise it's got something of the urban myth about it.
