Thing is spices are so fundamental. Even in the days we were throwing our piss out of windows people would of been using fennel, salt, wild garlic. Things like dandelion.
You can also get them so cheap. Go to a grocer set up for say Indians, or Eastern asian consumers. You get get them for pennies. I have one beside me which you take in your own tubs and it's by grams.

I bought my husband a medieval cookbook when we were first dating as he really likes cooking and is interested in game type foods. There is such an abundance of spices and herbs throughout the recipes. I was actually quite shocked as I didn't realise they used so much.

I thought it was slightly getting better but it's still naff recipes, its still very clunky. I am fed up of the giggling, the manic cooking where its so rushed and nobody knows what's going on. I'm fed up of the many faces and gurning. Its just boring. Everyone else - like Olia today- just seems so natural and warm. Mat doesn't make it seem scripted, thats the point- it's meant to appear natural to us

Oh man I'm late I'm late 😂, I've had the show on in the background for the last 10 minutes while I caught up on the last thread, I've been listening to her but not watching her and even just listening to her is awkward, noticing a bit more explanation during her cake demo though so that is better
