there are 3 labour stickers on the back of her phone in the picture... 3! This and the red suit are a couple of examples of how she tries too hard. The other attendees have obviously just grabbed something red out of the wardrobe, not decked themselves out head to toe and spent a bit of money. I sometimes feel bad that she needs to try so hard - it's not that deep; you don't need a bright red suit, three stickers and a neon sign above your head flashing "I support labour"

Utterly tragic try-hard. You know what actually matters, guest? Deeds, not words comedy red Santa suits, childish stickers, and hilarious office 'bants'.

That’s interesting. It just kind of feels that they take for granted here getting a vote or don’t want to have a difficult conversation.
I’m in NE Scotland and felt the same - nobody knocked on our door apart from the local Tory candidate. Got leafleted by the SNP but not a peep from Labour, and our candidate didn’t even live in Scotland 🍉 so that put me off voting for her even more. I think the Labour gains in Scotland were more due to people wanting the SNP out rather than any real effort on Labours part. I’ll be interested to see if they make more effort in the MSP elections in two years, or if the SNP gets their tit together by then. Would love if Jackie came knocking on my door to canvas, Scotland *is* her spiritual home after all! Although I don’t think Scotland extends beyond Edinburgh in her mind, so I’m safe for now.

Labour knocked twice on our door. Once to ask if they could count on our support and secondly to check that we would be voting their way.

Lib Dems knocked once as did Reform. Nada from the incumbent Tory who probably felt she’d easily keep her once ‘safe’ seat. Fortunately, Reform split the vote to benefit Labour and she was out.

We got flyers for all the main candidates through (bizarrely on the same day as if the Royal Mail had told them all “We’re doing it on one day, have your leaflet to us for delivery then or duck off”) and one door knocker for an independent who greeted me by name so clearly they’d done some research.

Possible the others came round when I wasn’t in but I didn’t see my neighbours complaining about them so guessing not.

No canvassers at our door either this time. In fact, I’ve never seen one. Mrs B reminds me we have a sign in the window. It might be that.
