I don't think there would have been grounds for appeal because Hopkins did misidentify Jack and then refused to make a correction, which was more on Hopkins' behaviour than on guest's. However, the trial judge was quite outspoken in their decision as to the (un)reliability of guest's testimony, which I believe is quite unusual in a defamation case.

Yeah it was an absolutely cut and dry defamation case so no appeal for Hopkins, but the fact Jack almost managed to lose a case that was an absolute guaranteed win and attract sheer ire from the judge entirely due to her own behaviour is perhaps the greatest example that she is her own worst enemy.

Not sure what I can say without gettting into legal bother other than 24k would have been a good deposit for a house in 2015

Hopkins attempted to appeal and was refused permission to do so. In March 2017 the same month as the decision, the original Judge (Warby) indicated that because he’d made his order, he was unable to reexamine it (functus officio) but that he wouldn’t have been persuaded of the merits of her appeal even if he could. She then made an application direct to the Court of Appeal who refused her permission to appeal in Jan 2018. As Big Lin might say, 😡THE END.

"Anyone ... who begrudges me a regular salary..."

This was the moment Jack started to really piss me off. Why should the public be paying her a salary through individual donations? A salary is earned by trading one's labour for pay. There's no reason she couldn't have found a job, even one working in poverty alleviation or budget cookery or whatever. Nobody forced her to freelance.

The entitlement of it.... blows my mind, even now.

Pisses me off too. Her argument (weasly words) will of course be that she is simply crowd-sourcing her hard-earned grifted "salary" (it's taxable income, guest, you stupid tit) , rather than seeking an employer, employment and a job. She has never ever got it through her thick skull that she is self-employed. Which is why I would like HMRC to come at her.

The case didn’t come to court/decision wasn’t made til spring 2017, as a result of which she appeared on Victoria Derbyshire and there met and began to lovebomb older wealthy sugarmama LJC.
