And my understanding of ‘coruscatingly‘ (bright, full of life or humour) doesn‘t tie in to what she’s saying here. But then, I’m not a writer (as you can tell by my clumsy use of a conjunction at the beginning of this sentence).

God I remembered she made sb wear a suit to Jo Cox’s public gathering but I didn’t realise they were larping funeral outfits and she was carrying all the red roses in the world.
Bear in mind that Jo was unexpectedly attacked and murdered in the early afternoon and the gathering was a reaction, just hours later. So people were popping down after work kind of thing, shocked and upset (I was working with a few people who knew Jo well and they were a mess, as you can imagine) and this one turns up making it all about her.

In a remarkable recovery, a year later in November 2018: Jack is on top of a railway bridge in her hometown when she drops her phone and “sinks to the floor sobbing” so she can opportunistically insert herself and her lurid fictions into yet another event that’s duck all to do with her.
