IIRC, when this was brought up again she said she'd intended to do it but didn't want to subject a Black person to the abuse she gets.

(Which takes on a new level of repugnant now I recall the time she claimed someone had called HER the N-word and thought it was appropriate to write it out completely uncensored.)

She literally pivots from being asked not to do something to lecturing others on not doing it.

She can't just say "my bad, will try harder" she has to say "they made me do it" & "but you're all worse"

Interesting to see that Laurence Fox has today lost his defamation case, in which guest's mate, Mark Lewis, played a small role for the claimants' team. Essentially, Fox was found to have defamed the three claimants when he lashed out at them on Twitter, calling them paedophiles.

His counter-claim that his reputation was damaged when they called him a racist was found not to hold up -- the court found that his reputation could have been damaged already by any number of previous incidents in which he demonstrated racist behaviour. Basically, if the guy is going to be out in public making bigoted comments, blacking up, joking about swastikas etc, he can't whinge to the courts that it's ruined his rep when someone calls him racist.

A formative case for libel nerds. And a hiding for the deeply unpleasant Fox.

Jack should take away from this that libel cases are not easily won. The regrettable fact that she won damages off Hatie Popkins was more due to Popkins' bloody mindedness than any noble points scored for free expression by guest.

Yes, Fox has got another shock coming when the judge awards costs and damages. And another libel case against a different Twitter user who also called him racist (can't remember his name off-hand but he's the one who crowdfunded his legal fees through a proper, transparent platform, unlike Jack).

He's lost his overpaid GB News job, the acting has dried up and he hasn't managed to get anywhere near elected office. So, he'll be a lot poorer and -- presumably -- will be having to downsize and live off his generational wealth in obscurity for a while. Which would be for the best, really.

Without 🍉🍉🍉, I am not too far from Grenfell and to even know she's written some kind of suburban, condescending wank, makes me rage.
