Chicken, red pepper, curry powder and Campbells mushroom soup, served with rice was one of my fav student meals!

I just got a rice cooker ( I have a lot of gadgets in the kitchen because it makes life easier when I’m making things and I’m in pain / too tired. I even have an AIR FRYER but I have so far resisted the urge to Chuck boiling water in it like a moron ) and I keep seeing recipes using mushroom soup instead of making a proper sauce. I do a lush mushroom, onion, white rum and tarragon sauce to go over roasted chicken thighs but sometimes I just physically can’t. But I crave that creaminess if that make sense?

So I’m going to nick that off you if that’s ok darling Lumpy as a quick, healthy meal and the first one I’ll make with my new rice thingamajig 🙏🏻

We've just found another way to say guest is massively over entitled. Most people have found ways to utilise cupboard ingredients, especially soup because it's cheap and easy but no one else has felt that they need other people's money for pointing soup is useful.
The hey day of soup casseroles was 1950-1970 but I still see them on American produced content. Some of them look good tbh.
Those Campbells condensed soups (mainly tomato & mushroom, but did use others) were a Godsend when I was bringing up my daughter alone 35 years ago. They were excellent as a base for a Jambalaya-type dish that she used to love. She still asks me to do her the "Ricey Thing" to this day, when she comes over.

It surprises me that guest has never used these much as a base for such a cheap & nourishing meal. Actually no, forget that - she hasn't got the first clue about food & nutrition as we all know.

As you were, tenderstems :)

Not soup but when I was a student I used to cook my housemates chicken breast in a cheap Sainsburys tomato pasta sauce with cheese on top and eat it with rice and they found it decidedly “posh” and I still cook this “mystery Mediterranean” chicken now.

On topic Mr Triple S met Nadiya when she was doing a talk at one of his clients offices to promote her new book and he said she is lovely. She talked more about anxiety than cooking, but she came with free books for everyone in the talk. She stayed to sign some after apparently and had a good chat with one of the girls about how much cooking helps her anxiety. I don’t watch her but she seems like. Good (inexplicable) egg

Bless Nadiya - she seems genuinely nice. I’m going to have a look through her recipes I think. And agree cooking can be good for MH in general.

Yesterday I made a whole slew of things as it helps get my mania energy out ( fucks me over physically but 🤷‍♀️ ) because the methodical way you need to do stuff helps the mind focus a bit and you can “switch off” the anxiety or agitation just for a short time.

I can’t do anything today sadly. Watched a film 3am then managed to sleep fitfully for a few hours but my body is proper fucked today ( no Jack, not fake fucked like proper fucked where I need to take prescribed medication for it, not tramadol I got off some dodgy bleep on the high street )

That’s amazing, just PayPal me for everything I do and we’ll be square, that recipe has taken me HOURS.

I will pay you for your time in performative pictures with my hands ( clean of course - I’m not a bleeping savage, not in that way anyway ) around the bowl of delicious food ( it does exist Jack ).

I can also write to The Guardian and declare you the new Pov Lumpy Space Princess, so that you may also get column inches and be able to start a Patreon to fund all the good that you do 🙏🏻

Just think of all the sideboards you can pose on - but you have to be ready to work a 100+ hour week creating concoctions in the morning then doing multiple thirst shots for the rest of the time. It’s a really hard life…are you ready for it?

ETA - duck me, manic me is literally crazy. Apologies for my frankly barking posts the last 24 hours 🤣 It’s bleeping funny being on here though - and that to me is the best way to deal with episodes. Just find something hilarious and dive in because it can keep your mind “safe” and stop you from destructive behaviours. There you go Jack - you’ve actually done some good after all! Provided me with a lot of entertainment when my genuinely fucked up head starts on one. Well done 👍 🥇

A few of you have mentioned Nadiya's soup in a curry, and whilst it sounds rank/odd, it's how chicken tikka masala came about.
A link here to the Shish Mahal in Glasgow, where a 4yr old Laz first tasted curry in 1984. I still walk by this restaurant when I'm home and yet haven't been in years. Might take Mr Laz next time I'm home.

All the talk of Jack’s bizarre feet a few pages up has made Vlad do his weirdest one yet.

There’s a supplement called gaba that I take before bed to help me sleep. It could be worth a try? I also take magnesium.

I tried bringing her up with my foodie and political friends to sniff out potential frauen and unfortunately none of them knew who she was lol! A true nobody in both worlds it seems despite her glasto sized audience on a dying platform.

Ha I do this too. I know someone who works with a lot of celeb chefs and food influencers but sadly they are mostly quite professional. Thinking about the dates she did her job I suspect she may have come across Jack in the early days of the grift (2013ish) but I haven’t managed to bring it up yet. I need to buy her a load of cocktails to try and get her in a chatty mood.
