My son had an op last week and I have binged the Off Menu podcasts. I can't decide if I would love guest on as a guest or not.
Intrigued what she would choose but also don't want her on my new favourite podcast as she would ruin it for me.
She will never be picked anyway as , well, she is merely guest.

Maybe this is my problem, but my father cooked vegetables exclusively in a pressure cooker for the whole of my childhood. I believe he learned to cook from a book called "How to feed a Soviet family" or somesuch as everything was soggy, colourless and devoid of flavour. Consequently the mere mention of a pressure cooker makes me feel ill.
Sorry laughing at How to feed a Soviet family. ☠️☠️☠️

bleeping HELL can you imagine hearing her for over an hour. I’d rather be waterboarded and forced to listen to the Kemah Bob one on repeat.

Hope mini-nurse is recovering well 🫶

(If you like Off Menu, Kathy Burke’s ‘Where There’s A Will…’ is as good. Same premise but funeral plans, isn’t at all morbid, good (comedy) guests)
 
Bean juice meringues were all the rage about a year before she did that recipe.

You can use the juice (more delicately known as aquafaba) from chickpeas and whip with icing sugar to make an approximation of meringues.

I've never tried it, but think they got quite popular on Instagram as a *health* thing ('cause egg whites are so unhealthy...). You can also use it for mousses.

Never heard of anyone using something other than chickpea water, but I'm guessing all beans are interchangeable...

The liquid from a tin of beans (usually chickpeas but other beans can work, don't use kidney beans, your meringues will go a horrible colour) can be used to replace egg white in meringues.
 
If any other chef had done this I would think Wow , never knew that was possible. Let's Google the tit out of it.

Cause it's guest, I just immediately thought, what a bleeping belter she is , that sounds like implausible vomit.

I do feel confident in saying that unless she directly stole the recipe from somewhere else without altering it at all, she'll have fucked it up somehow.
