I went on holiday recently...but a) my govt has imposed much stricter measures than in England* and b) it was to visit a friend whose village has 250 people. Going to a big city at the moment seems ill-advised? Going to a big city which you visited with your very recent ex, staying in the same area and visiting the same restaurants seems...well.

On a lighter note, this has to be the least eventful train journey Jack's ever taken. No falling under the train, no lights going out, no getting told off for profane tweeting, no comments about her tattoos, not even a single kicked shin! Brave new world.

* Jack triangulates that I live in...neither the USA nor Brazil.

I have the same feelings about it, even though I know some people are desperate to get their (tourism) businesses running again. And I also know of Scots going to England as soon as the pubs opened there which did my head in.

TBH I rather have her posting about an Edinburgh trip than parading a sick pet around for likes, even though she'll be boiling my piss with her love for Edinburgh (as if she's not allowed to like it haha) and the fact she's traveling that far without there being a need.

And if Jack would like to have a look at the less touristy parts of Edinburgh whilst she's on her jolly, why not pop out to Wester Hailes and Broomhouse to see how a lot of Edinburgh people really live. There are some amazing fresh food initiatives working alongside food banks. But....i guess she's "off duty" now

She's been BUSY with twitter pile-ons and bandwagon jumping, so no time for that.
 
Just listening to a Radio 4 Bookclub episode with Marian Keyes (discussing Rachel's holiday - love that book!).

The host asks her if she recognises an addict, MK says yes and he asks how. She says"messy behaviour, there's a way that they try and tell me their sorrows, overshare with me"

ETA I'm not accusing JM of being addicted or relapsing or anything like that. I just thought this described her online behaviour and perhaps she is addicted to social media and everything that comes with it.
 
Last night’s timeline makes no sense.

She first mentioned Edinburgh at 17:55 in a speculative ‘what’s it like, thinking of coming up’ capacity.

By midnight, she’d uploaded the story featuring the Caledonian Sleeper and a picture of her (presumably) in her cabin.

It’s a one hour and twenty train ride from Southend Central to Euston, which means she’d have had to have left home by 10ish at the very latest to make the train.

Her trip to the shops cosplaying as Andy Warhol was at 6pm, so within the space of four hours (at the most) she’s booked the train ticket, accommodation, arranged SB’s childcare, packed and (I really, really hope) sorted care for the cat.

Either this was stealthily organised well in advance or she’s had her wildest ‘chaos’ yet.

Doesn't all this Scottish stuff prove how manipulative she is?

She got paid by Hellmann's recently and she said she wanted a holiday. So the past couple of weeks she's planned her trip to Scotland, but not said anything about it online. She'll have arranged with Jonny's father childcare and feeding the cat, all that kind of stuff.

Then, suddenly, she announces it, in dozens of Tweets - the drama - instagram stories - photos of the train - etc, etc. As though it's a spur-of-the-moment thing. But it's nothing of the kind.

She makes out she's looking for accommodation and asking for tips. She planned where she's going to stay already. It's all planned.

She is very, very, very duplicitious.
 
I don't have a huge problem with her going to Edinburgh (although I appreciate I don't live there any more) as long as she social distances and mainly just walks around. Although I do wish she'd waited a couple of weeks... But then again, she's got literally nothing in her life right now since the kitten passed and she needs to keep those likes up :rolleyes:

My irritation is, as usual, her massive hypocrisy. She literally said two days ago that she was 'staying home!!' - now in Jack's weird little brain she would doubtlessly say she meant 'NOW, actually - I meant that specific moment in time', but we all know she was insinuating she was being a good citizen and not emerging from smegland until corona is over. Now that's completely out of the window. Now it's the sleeper and dishoom and shopping! Ffs.

I know there was an advisory post saying we shouldn't speculate about this - but, since Jack constantly mentions her son and says she is a "single parent" I think we are justified to question this. In my view, Jonny's father has him much more now. He will be able to provide a much more stable home environment.

Jack, however...yikes. She says she's hiding yet posts the same picture TWICE for maximum likes, with god-awful makeup and filtered/photoshopped to death?? All this says to me is desperation. Wigs are there for practical reasons, or for maximum ~aesthetique~ darling. This is neither, and it's sad.

I thought those wigs were from a Swedish children’s TV programme, can’t remember what it was called, it was shown here and the woman had pink hair. Anyone else remember it?
 
I also have a pet hate for people who only have visitied a city's central parts/tourist parts and then say it's like their 'second home' (I lived in Amsterdam as well, and people would do the same for that city when they'd not ventured a mile form the center even). I would then always ask how long they lived there or if they perhaps went to university there.

It does remind me of one of my favourite Scotland memes:
