The photo is terrible because she has taken a tongue in cheek concept and absolutely played it deadpan. She hasn’t got a humorous bone in her body.

Whenever I see stuff like this, I ALWAYS have a chortle to myself about the outtakes/unused images. (Also see every Lorraine clip, and howling in a school kitchen at nonplussed staff for a masher in front of Hugo Boss stylists and Marcus).
 
Some friends shared her trifle (which looks okay to me) and I was seething with annoyance which is why I am trying to back away from these threads. She doesn’t get to live rent free in my head any longer.

And some donated to her “legal fees” too and defended doing so when I asked why they didn’t just donate it to their local food bank!

And this is why I can’t stay on this thread. It pisses me off too much.

Whatever good point Carole has is lost in her horrible twitter device of repeating the same bleeping sentence each tweet. I lost track of what she was saying after about three of them. Just write normally ffs.

Yeah they’re like superheros, right? But not all heros wear capes, so we’re going to stand them on red velvet plinths, like from the end of olympics, yeah? The medals bit, coz they’re heros who deserve a medal. Doing like a superhero pose! No medals though. But not all heros wear capes. But then they will wear capes, but not superhero ones, red velvet ones down to the floor. With a gold bit but not a gold medal. Like a Roman emperor! Like Nero. Not all Nero’s wear capes but these heros do, but they don’t, but they are super. I think it’s a very simple and easy to understand concept.

I didn't know the Holly couponing lady from the Guardian article, but her online presence seem very organised. A Youtube channel with many followers where she regulalry posts content and a website that relates to all her channels.

It's not my cup of tea at all, but such a difference to the chaos from Monroe.

Oh I know, did think the thread would have been a few tweets shorter without the am dram of repeating a few characters each time. The drama this Twitter lot want 24/7 is a bit much, they’re even losing their fortunes over it 🤭

No words for that guardian shoot other than what low production value is this! Not far off the iconic Jackie bloke / girly girl horror 😬
 
I think Carole Cadwalladr has been broken a bit by the libel case from Arron Banks. She's one of the people who brought the Cambridge Analytica story to light and has been mocked by the likes of Andrew Neil as well (calling her a crazy cat lady when he never even dared to ask difficult questios about Leave and Cambridge Analytica). I don't always like the way she tweets and she can come accross somewhat dramatic, but have a lot of respect for her being one of the few daring to go against the Banks/Farage/Leave crowd and she's had to pay with a chunk of sanity already. A very different story imho than Jack Monroe being pissed of about something a Tory MP said.

Please don't go. Show your friends the wiki. Tell them she was never poor, not a single parent. I reckon everyone can see the light.

It’s very odd. Back when I was on MN there were two people and one couple who would always have threads about them pulled quickly. Jack, Gina whatshername the cry it out baby sleep training woman who actually took legal action against MN and the MCcanns. Whatever hold Jack once had over Justine and co has clearly gone.
