I have never understood why with her huge garden she doesn’t grow stuff to eat, veg, herbs, salad etc
Even if you just had a windowsill you can grow cut and come again greens for less than yellow sticked salad bags that must be more nutritious.

But this is jack, the food blogger who has quietly been sharing her kettle and no cook recipes with food banks somehow without using said blog 🤷‍♀️ and she's lost these recipes. Ever the feel can pissed (obviously I mean philanthropist but wanted to leave that gem caused by the voice to text) who doesn't mention her charity work that she does for free, apart from when she's mentioning her charity work. Rattle rattle.

You can grow potatoes in potato bags. I know because my husband has and they were good. He also grows mint.

My dad used to grow tomatoes in a compost bag in a plastic covered homemade shelters( pretend greenhouses before he got a proper one on the cheap from a club be ok I think)

She hasn't got a clue about proportions of acid: fish either. Ceviche requires sashimi-grade fish- you are right. It's costly.
Last time I wandered past the fish counter there was some lovely fresh tuna. A piece the size of my palm - that I would have cut up and downed with some wasabi and soy in <30 secs - was 6.99.
Not cheap.

Soaking your defrosted salmon fillet in tinned pineapple will give you food poisoning. Guaranteed.

And the cruel thing is the people desperate enough to try these “tricks” are likely in forms of employment that don’t have anything about stat sick pay, or worse will cut your hours going forward for daring to be human and getting unwell. It’s not just projectile vomiting it’s people’s futures and money she’s bleeping with, she’s an absolute ghoul.

We used to have one of those pretend greenhouses cos we have a small yard and it was brilliant until some freak weather took it from us. Had tomatoes and cucumbers on the go for a few summers, strawberries in pots outside the greenhouse, it was great. My Grandad (he's DEAD) had a proper greenhouse and he was growing bloody melons and all sorts in it, and he was from further up north than I am, I'd love the space for one one day.

We do have a compost bin but my wife got overexcited when we got it but didn't fully understand the concept and so now it has an entire cut up Christmas tree and a bunch of rotten wood in it so our compost should be ready sometime before we both die, with any luck.

I know it’s v hard to have an ethical job under capitalism but would strongly suspect this is Boots (as Superdrug are savvier, they’ve done a lot of inclusivity/charitable stuff) who are owned by Walgreens, who are one of those top 5 families in the world accounting for the majority of plastics in the ocean??? But go off on ur little talk #activist #ad #spon

Lol Jack's experience 'was a few years ago now'. Sounds more recent that 10 years doesn't it?

'Major' brand. Never one to downplay anything is she? Even when talking about an objectively good thing I can't stand her and the way she centres herself and bigs herself up. Vile.
Why doesn't the major brand set up a focus group with people in actual poverty? I'm sure they could contact a food bank or even place adverts. It should be easy enough. They could even give some freebies or vouchers to participants to thank them for giving their time. Cheaper and more effective than speaking to a grifter who sources her knowledge of poverty from twitter

That’ll be another few grand in corporate speaker fees, then, for talking about something she admits she has no recent experience of. Cool.
It's odd. You'd think she'd have loads of evidence from all that 'for free' work she's been doing with food banks and the like. I'm sure the Trussell Trust would be happy to direct her to one their many social policy reports if she asked nicely. It's really unfortunate that such an experienced volunteer comes over like someone who has no knowledge at all and has to harvest anecdotal evidence from service users at the last minute. Let's hope there's no repeat of the DHP bullshit she farted out at the parliamentary committee recently.

Firstly, thinking about way too many meat jokes. 😬
Harking back to last thread: I imagined "the bromelain in canned pineapple is denatured" was part of her morning mantra, along with " Today, above all else, I choose love spoooooons." What a let down.

I’m confused: was she trying to bring the inedible steak back to life? That’s an awful lot of time, ingredients and fuel to waste otherwise.

Talk tomorrow? Not telling you when, not telling you where, but give me all your stories! If you don't care enough to bother enough you will be tit. Laminate that, dearie, and stick it on your lariat.
