Ceviche relies on acid. Jack tells people to use pineapple + lemon or lime juice, but doesn't know which ingredient is actually doing the work.

Ceviche also requires very fresh, good quality fish, as the acid will cure it, rather than cook it. It won't kill bacteria; the inside of a piece of ceviche should be similar to sashimi.

Spending £££ to buy suitable fish that lets you save money on your electricity bill is not the wisest move. #JacksHacks

Made it once
Haven’t eaten it yet
Putting it in the book!

Imagine having to go to a food bank and being confronted with some grinning Jackolyte explaining vegetables to you. There you are clinging to bottom rung of the the social ladder and trying to perk yourself up with thinking about how it could be worse then you're confronted with some halloween cake bellowing at you about peach curry. Revolutions have been sparked by lesser outrages.

She hasn't got a clue about proportions of acid: fish either. Ceviche requires sashimi-grade fish- you are right. It's costly.

Would it be more sensible / cost effective to cook one huge pan of pasta and eat over a few days than buy fresh fish? And far less disgusting.
I'd rather eat a tin of smart price spaghetti cold than either of those "recipes".

Years ago I was making homemade lemonade using a recipe which called for cream of tartar; I WRONGLY assumed they meant tartar sauce and, well let’s just say I’m not even sure Jack could salvage it.

I would imagine dear heart that this could have been easily resurrected by simply popping into the slow cooker for 3 days.
