To go back to Jack’s ‘gotcha’ quote from the committee meeting that followed hers…she’s being tricksy with this. I had it on and those who raised this then went on to say about why the figure comes from September and not later on (eg January) and it appears to come down to a IT issue/oversight which no one is addressing. They raised that this needs to be addressed. Then they went on to say how if they took the figure from say January how big an impact it would have eg it would rise from 3% to just over 5% and then talked about that. It would appear any government in power would therefore technically ‘benefit’ from the six month lapse. Not a Tory apologist but there was more to it then just the quote Jack tweeted.
