It's going to be 'one of those days' with her isn't it? Getting snippy cos she's got her publisher meeting today, is it - or was that yesterday? I reckon she's going to get a big fat no, and if the meeting's happened, her book hasn't been well received!

Idk if I even want to open up this can of worms on the thread but don’t officers have a very different experience of the military than the soldiers (if that’s the right term for them)? Like the grammar school to uni to Sandhurst pipeline is gonna give you a very different experience and perspective to the predatory recruitment practices that happen in comprehensive schools and shopping centres in deprived areas…..

You don't say "immediate tangible military support" when you mean "humanitarian aid". I know the armed forces do get involved in such things, but if that's what she meant then that's what she would have said.

I'm also military around the edges and I'm currently trying to control the panic of knowing my loved one may be deployed, so War Jack can duck right off.

She's going to write a bleeping poem isn't she? To show how deeply she understands war.

Which is ironic really because although she may say she is left wing, her background, her family wealth, her military roots, all her actions, all her tweets, all her opinions would appear to show that she is right wing. And she is certainly white. White as mayo, if I remember correctly.
 
Why can't you just highlight Ukraine and Russian writers, Jack? Tweet links to their work and to aid organisations? Signal boost good reporters? And if you do this, avoid the temptation to quote tweet with a hot take.

For once in your bleeping life Jack, step aside from ego and you might gain insight into the experience of others. This is what good writers and activists do.

It's amazing how she doesn't understand politics *at all*. She seems to think she'll be under fire from right wingers because of course she's stating that well-known leftist concept of getting involved in armed conflict????

Quite. She couldn't do that or retweet experiences of Ukrainians. She has to imply she both understands logistics and that she will be hurting especially due to her unique military connections. What with her very unusual stance of hating war.
 
Would she not get more traction pointing the knock on effect this conflict will have.

Gas and oil prices will rise, this will reflect at prices from wholesalers and retailers almost immediately.
That's just for the crude and refined fuels, which leads to Increasing logistics overheads.

Ukraine is a major producer of neon gas, used in the lasers during the manufacture of integrated circuits and silicon chips, this will exasserbate the already troubled chip manufacturing industry.

Russia is a major supplier of palladium, Gas, other things.
