Yes - had to fork out £36 for a Sasine search as it wasn't on the Land Register in Scotland. Which told me that the owner was the person I already thought it was and gave me a contact address in England I knew he owned, but has also been abandoned. Local gossip is that he moved to Ireland a few years ago and died there, but I got a friend over there to search the death records recently when she was at the GRO in Dublin looking at some family history stuff and there was no record of it. I've also contacted the Queen and Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer in Scotland, who takes ownership of any unowned buildings and they've confirmed it's not with them. So I'm currently at a dead end unless I employ a private investigator to trace him and find out what's happening with his estate, and since I just bought two other derelict wrecks to do up and don't have the cash to buy a third one right now, it's on the back burner for the moment.
 
I've been gathering evidence for some time now and have realised my best friend types thank(space)you as one word consistently. I am not going to explain that I'm a mithering ninny. He already thinks most of what I do is off-kilter weird and he would genuinely not have a clue who Jack Monroe is anyway (insert a context adjacent Mariah gif)
