I don't know why I've never thought of asking this before - my mum's volunteered in a charity bookshop for about 20 years 🔺 and has a rather encyclopaedic knowledge of books due to this...I texted her asking if they ever get Jack Monroe cookbooks in. Her reply - 'who? Never heard of a Jack Monroe. Do you mean Jamie Oliver?' :ROFLMAO: THAT MAN getting the credit again!
I really don’t give a tit about being 🔺. If anyone finds me, they can have me. I don’t have a job, can’t cook and apparently I am unhappy and on the internet all day.

Yesterday, in our shop we got 3 very interesting cookbooks…

1. Delia collection- FISH
2. The salmon cookbook (Swedish)
3. Nopi by Yotam and someone I can’t remember.

So far away from Jack I may as well have been volunteering in a charity shop on the King’s Road.

(edit- I do care really, the power of technology terrifies me).

It’s to “better” them. You know, people who use food banks are thick as two short planks, no idea how to make food*, and Jack will be ideal to show them how**

*absolutely not my view.
**definitely also not true.
That was probably the first time I heard of Jack, when we'll meaning, but slightly deluded, foodbank volunteers were handing out copies of Jack's recipes.

Because if you have a can of baked beans why not drain it, mash it up and mix it with herbs that are free Because you have grown them on your window sill or whatever.

So, the first time Jack annoyed me wasn't even her fault.

It’s so obvious she doesn’t eat what she cooks, why would you say “oh this is rank” or “I made it as a challenge” unless you think you’re a modern day princess Diana! She might as well say “well I won’t eat this but it’s fine for you poors”

And always with the spam! Last time I checked foodbanks were not only giving out food BBE July 1973!

I am sorry to the spam lovers out there 🤮

I know some people love spam.
But wouldnt it be nicer to put nicer foods in foodbanks.

I think she plays under the guise that poor people just dont wanna eat beans on toast all the time, but then why would they they Waste prefectly decent food making it into something else.

There are tried and tested recipies to jazz up beans, putting cheese on it, lea and perins sauce, those hot dog sausages in jars, cut up and added in.

I know someone who made chicken pie with a tin of chicken in white sauce and a bit off puff pastry.

There are so many ways to jazz up a basic meal without rinsing it or blending it to hell.

This! I went through cheap openers at quite a rate of knots until I bought a fancy schmancy Joseph Joseph one in Debenhams. It's not cheap being a southpaw.
My mum was a lefty and anything she taught me to do I do left handed. She spent years finding the perfect leftie tin opener, I can’t use righty ones.
Is Jack left handed.
PSA: the Tupperware tin opener WORKS. I'll give up many things before I'll part with it, which cost the A$ equivalent of a plastic two-headed Halloween dog, btw
