Like with a lot of Jack's stories, it's very hard to question the DV stuff without seeming like a horrible person. So I'm not going to talk about whether her account of abuse is true, but what I will say is that I find the story of Jack having to 'out' herself as a victim a bit suspect. Why would someone threaten to reveal that Jack was Sam? It seems more likely that Jack decided that she was ready to talk about it publically but decided to add a little extra drama to the story.

Lola Milne, Felicity Cloake on radio 4's the Food Programme right now talking about tin can cooking, including Lola Milne's new book Take One Tin: 80 delicious meals from the store cupboard 😈

I don't think Jack would dare set the dogs on other women would she?

Does this imply her child was conceived through prostitution?! I hate even thinking/ writing that but that's definitely what it's saying, right?

I thought her story was that she resigned her job with the Fire Service after she had her child because they wouldn't change her shifts and she didn't have childcare. So why had she needed to work as a 'prostitute' to survive financially before she left a well paid job with the Fire Service? Why didn't she have childcare when she had a supportive family and help from her child's father?

In the "Sam" article about the significantly older, physically intimidating, bolshie partner, she mentions a time when the partner told her she couldn't wear a certain thing because she wasn't butch.

I can't remember where I read it, so I'm sorry if it was earlier in this thread but... I remember someone sharing a Tweet from Jack about a leather jacket she had bought and been told by Allegra she couldn't pull it off because she "wasn't butch".

I think implying that Allegra was Lynn in the article and that Jack said she was pregnant at the time to deliberately cover her tracks in case Allegra read it.

I agree.
Here she says she bought the jacket five years ago (posted March 2020). Five years ago she was engaged to Allegra.

Incidentally, says she was engaged to someone else before that so she’s on her third engagement now. That and 18 house moves in six years seems like a lot of upheaval for a child

It's that it's always the most extreme version of an event. People like this never experience the banal (horrifying, traumatic but still, somehow, mundane in the retelling) rapes that characterise most rapes. They never just have a struggle with their body image/food, they have anorexia that ravages them for a decade. They didn't do ballet for a bit as a child, they were a trained ballerina for 15 years.

There's probably grains of truth to much of it but it's impossible to pull it all apart. Everyone knows people like that, where you hear them tell a story and you know the incident it's referring to but their retelling and your recollection are miles apart. And the more extreme the story, the harder it is to say 'this is bullshit' because, if it isn't, you'll look like the worst person alive.

Her timelines and stories have no internal consistency, but who is really going to turn around and say 'so, this rape at knife point when you were pregnant...' and what good would come from doing that. I don't know, she's a strange one.

That’s interesting. The Lynn character was much older also. Although I’m still inclined to think that the Sam/Lynn tale is fiction, with a few grains of truth. That’s seems to be the pattern that Jack lives by.

Because if Allegra beat Jack up so badly the police were involved, she stuck needles in her etc... that tit would have hit the news, surely?

Hi, I've tried to summarise all the stuff about Jamie Oliver, if anyone has a second could you read and let me know what I've missed? No doubt filled with mistakes but wanted to get it out there so it wasn't lost :)

perfect i saw his show today and what is noticeable isthat he doesn't really use tins.of stuff... it is more frozen or fresh livened up woth herbs... also there os no way they would let someone with no presenting experience like her present from their house how he is now... i do not believe for a moment she was in the running this looks like he suggestedthe show himself

At the risk of sounding like a broken bleeping record...

Her name was in the ring, and she was passed over for Jamie Oliver. He didn't bleeping steal her gig, she never got it. He did. 🙄

It's not even her niche genre, it's no one's. We've literally never had to shut the country down like this and adapt to cooking like we are now. It's not a budget, or even a tin can show ffs.
Jamie is presenting a show to help us adapt recipes, using things we might have around the house. She's taking the piss out of him, but I've looked on his website and actually found a lot of his ideas really helpful. I feel like I will make much better use of the ingredients I have using his recipe switches and tips, rather than chucking everything into a saucepan and making a mush to last days which is what Jack always seems to suggest.

And she has her son aged 22 (?) so she would have turned to prostitution very young (late teens at best?) whilst in the early years of recovery from anorexia and possibly living with her parents, but who knows.

Her son is young, still at school I'm sure. Like primary school I think!

I used to follow her on Twitter and at first I liked her and her recipes etc but then I noticed she was always complaining, playing the victim, ill, poor, jumping on the latest bandwagon, not being kind with her words and I just took a dislike to her. Stopped following her and now I've seen this thread just confirms all the bullshit!

He’s 10, it was his birthday last week because she posted his breakfast pancakes covered in sprinkles which looked dry as duck. Complete with candles for the ‘gram.

Shall we add bipolar..... I'm sure I've heard that one out her mouth!

This is disgusting how she can say stuff like this to do many people. Let's not forget the nation Already know Jamie and trust him and will tune in for him. Who is she?! No one
Desperate to be someone. Always hard done by, always missing out, always last one picked. She needs to get over herself?!

Is that her 'one grumpy tweet'? The one that set the attack dogs on Jamie? It's horrible isn't it. She can backpedal all she likes now but her reaction to him getting the programme was awful, petulant and entitled. Was she trying to provoke him into replying? Luckily he has the dignity not to stoop to that level.
She is panicking now because she has made it acceptable to slag people off for doing a similar programme. She can't complain if she receives the same and she knows it. Hence getting her house in order first with warning the Beeb.
I really don't want her to fail, I actually don't care that much tbh but hope people get some help from the programme.

This is phenomenal. She’s not going to like this at all because there’s nothing she can do about it and it’s all laid bare

Not finished the article yet but re the first print screen... you cannot someone else getting a TV slot with the systemic erasure of bame people’s contributions to popular culture (including food in that).

Jamie’s jollof rice was BAD because he took something that thoroughly belongs to the Afro Caribbean community, bastardised it, then presented it to the great british public expecting accolades. It’s yet another example of white (men, particularly) erasing BAME’s contributions, stealing their social/cultural assets & presenting it to a white audience whilst expecting praise/money for it. It’s really, really bad.

I assume that tweet is deleted cos mate.... that’s a trash take.
