My kitchen is rather cluttered I'd say. Nothing like Jack's, hers looks claustrophobic with all that stuff looming over you. But mine is fairly small (though a decent size by mobile home standards) and it is very much a 'working room'. Well loved and used. I have a lot of condiments and spices that have to be out on display as there's nowhere else for them to go. I have quite a few gadgets but manage to squeeze most of those out of sight. Except for my beautiful KitchenAid - FANCY 😏

Hah. Mine would definitely count as cluttered I think. But organised, if that makes sense. I like a kitchen with *stuff* in it, but like you say JM's looks claustrophobic to me. And I have my Kitchen Aid on display too (also FANCY), but that's inevitable, as I do have a tattoo of the thing.

What worries me is how unstable the shelves look, imagine one falling down 😂

Sidenote - I love how long and petty (reasonable) our memories are. She must be fuming, or whatever stupid word she would use instead.
well this is how we all came here though isn't it ? slowly remembering long ago stated fiction or such like, and wondering about new illnesses / trauma and we were all naturally on the alert ...... for all the long ingrained bullshit that is spewed forth from the unicorn haired one.

A bread knife for everything! A few months ago, my friend used a bread knife to cut cheese. We ended up in A&E with me helpfully explaining knife types and uses on the way:ROFLMAO:

I just can’t imagine it, sawing at everything?

Also, 60 knives?! I have a set of 5, I understand that she might need more as a ‘cook’ but 60 seems excessive especially if you only rate one

My ex used to use a bread knife for everything. He is my ex for a reason.

Actually, he is my ex for many reasons but the way he did things (like breathing) is definitely one of them.

You have a KitchenAid tattoo?? What colour is it? ☺

Hah. Yes. I quite often forget it's there, as it's on my back. It's red, like my own beloved KitchenAid.

Tried to take a picture, but I am rubbish, so can only offer you a very shiny in progress one from years ago. It's calmed down a lot now.

I love this 😍. I was hankering after a red one but hubby bought me a silver one for Christmas. It does look smart though ☺️

She really does not look after her knives ☹ some of those look like they've been use to mine coal FFS. And there's expensive ones there, I can see what looks like a Global knife, probably around £100, and that rusty old thing on the very left looks like her Observer Food Monthly award (2018?) Which is a Blok chefs knife. They retail at just over £300. Looks so appreciated 🙄

A £300 knife?! Crikey! She’s just so poor, isn’t she?! You could even say she’s living on the bread(knife)line.

I've been lurking here since DKL, I'd vaguely heard of Jack but not enough to know why she had a thread here. I've stayed mainly because you're a hilarious, supportive bunch. Just saw those photos of her knives and I had to delurk.

I used to volunteer in a kitchen. One of the first rules I learnt was do not hang knives pointing upwards like Jack has. If you pull it off and it slips, your first instinct is to try and catch it, and you'll end up with bloody fingers. I actually gasped when I saw those photos, it's so not safe. Genuinely, I can't believe she doesn't know that. It's so basic. Calling them 'pointy things' and writing don't touch next to them might suit the aesthetic but it's dangerous.
