Fighting the inner demon. She is due in a few weeks actually. She can be a bit annoying sometimes imo 🤣 but she is lovely and very down to earth.

Ya she does seem nice and delighted she's so close to having baba in arms now... but I can't watch her stories 😬 you'd want to clear your calendar to sit and watch 100 stories of her repeating herself on a loop about the baby's room... bores me

I really like Áine and hope so much this is her time, she deserves it so much. But sometimes I think the not working gives too much time to think and dwell on thinks. I have been through IVF and did take some time off but work helped, both my friends there and something to take my mind off it. Just a thought.

I'd agree. Not working gives so much time to think and over think.
Although maybe her job wasn't compatible with taking chunks of time off. And fertility treatment is rough so if the flexibility wasn't there maybe it's just not feasible to work

I completely agree. I worked throughout my cycles and found it to be great to take my mind off things

Can I ask ye ladies what clinic ye went to and would ye recommend it? Have done 1 failed IUI and we decided last night we are gonna go ahead and do IVF even though I hated the whole IUI process I feel with IVF the chances are much greater so just gonna have to go for it

I highly recommend Waterstones as we used them. I was always happy with the advice and information. I found repromed too ‘sales-y’ when I was making enquiries - they add you to a mailing list I still get emails 2 years on! Maybe they all do that but Waterstones don’t and I just felt they were super

I would agree with Waterstones. I had first baby no issues but couldn’t conceive on second after 2 years of trying. I had HSG which resulted is a pregnancy but I miscarried then after a couple months of trying again we just said we would try IUI and I’m here cuddling my little fella. From what I gather IUIs are more successful in women who have already had previous pregnancy. Waterstones were so nice to deal with, any of the staff I dealt with could not have done more for me.

Thanks, that's where i went for IUI, didn't even get a call after to ask if it worked which I thought was odd and had all my appointments at clinic near me and then day before IUI they were like tomorrow's the day, your appointment is in our other clinic which was a 2.5 hour drive away, they never said that could have been the case, just added to the stress with both of us having to drop everything for a 5 hour round trip so don't think I'll go back to them

my best friend is using therapie clinic (very new) in dublin & she’s loving them ❤️

Ollie riled me up when she was giving out about how the nurse giving her her Covid vaccine couldn’t give her detailed advice about the effect the vaccine would have on her cycle or her IVF meds. FFS like. If you want detailed personal medical advice then you ask your own doctors. Not the overworked exhausted vaccine centre nurse.

That led to her condescending series of #OlwynFacts which included her heading out in Belfast, lecturing us about how great it was that there were so few Covid restrictions up there. How fun and safe it all was. Then, when OF COURSE, she got Covid a few days later, she was full of “why me, why do I have such bad luck”. 😡 She went out hopping from bar to bar, went to a show in a tiny venue wearing no mask while Covid cases were absolutely raging while taking medication that lowered her immune system!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

She’s an absolute dose with so little cop on I’d genuinely worry how she’d cope with a child. I’ve no doubt she’s a lot of love to give and would be great fun with kids. But when the kid is screaming crying with colic or an ear infection at 3am she would be beyond useless and crying into her Instagram stories

My GP recommended either Rotunda IVF or Merrion Fertility as they’re non profit. We went with Rotunda IVF but they’ve since been bought over by SIMS so I think Merrion are the only non profit clinic now.

That said, you do need to bear in mind how easy a clinic is for you to get to for all your scans etc.

I'd suggest getting copies of your records from the first clinic and going for consultations in more than one clinic - to get a feel for a place and hear what they suggest. Would defo ask about waiting lists for treatment when you first enquire - have heard there's long ones in some places, so that might be a factor for you. Also - if you have private health insurance see if it covers fertility treatment and if so, check if it's limited to certain clinics.

There's a lot of info on the rollercoaster.ie discussion boards -
I found them useful when looking into it all.

hard to truely get an unbiased view as it's human nature to have rose tinted glasses about a place if the treatment works - and it's hard to compare success rates as each clinic seems to record them differently, plus some clinics will try treatment for people who are older/low ovarian reserve/higher bmi that other clinics have refused to treat

She came out with a few inaccurate statements around that time - eg confidentially saying that ppl shouldn't get the covid vaccine within 3 months of a transfer, etc, her only source cited was "oh, a lady messaged me and said her clinic said so".

there's a fair number of eejits watching her stories and thinking she's an expert on ivf. Think ollie is beginning to believe that herself, she's been hinting around acting as an escort for ppl going over to Greece and telling ppl to send in questions for her Insta lives.

Thanks for that, I have all our results and our health insurance doesn't cover any treatment. Might pick 2 or 3 though and go for consultations, never thought of that, thanks

Is this one for real, the fall was her fault! Last year she tumbled down the stairs! How can someone be so clumsy and careless?!
