Sounds like the company isn’t confident that they will sell
Yeah, that’s a huge production run, isn’t it?😳 The dress isn’t ugly; it’s just ordinary and totally forgettable.

Vic, you might want to re-think posing with Boe, though. Your noses are about the same length! (But, I suppose that the dog is now considered a business expense and a tax deduction.)

I just made the point that you saying attendees should wear Gucci to a movie about Gucci is like saying everyone should wear the Miss Dior perfume to a movie starring Natalie Portman, that doesn’t make any sense.

Sorry lovely, in your first message I clearly misunderstood which part of my post you were disagreeing with. I thought you meant she wasn't appropriately dressed for a film premiere in addition to not being dressed in Gucci and displaying Dior so prominently... Apologies- yesterday wasn't my day for reading comprehension, I think I misunderstood everything that wasn't spelt out in words of only one syllable!! Sorry!! (Vicky won't help with that because her spelling is worse than ever and her clumsy typos get published to hundreds of thousands of people!! 😜 she needs to check her work!!)

How are they sold out if they're made to order?!

I don't understand that either. She said they are all made to order so "sold out" means 24 dresses have been ordered.... Not exactly revolutionary, just an extortionate price!!

(Am I alone thinking lot of people wear kilts for Xmas day, so why not a tartan dress?! I just don't personally like the scratchiness of the fabric and it's not really a garment you would want to wear something underneath because you would want it to be closely fitted....no?... Maybe not)

Kilts for Christmas Day? As far as I know that’s not a custom I’ve come across in England, maybe the Scots do?

I'm Scottish, never worn a kilt (or tartan anything) on Christmas Day. It would have to be a very formal event for men to wear kilts...Christmas at home in a kilt isn't something I know any family/friends to do tbh. My Mum was just asking the other day actually why tartan is considered festive, she doesn't get it.

I mean, the movie is about the HOUSE OF GUCCI. So, really not anything like wearing Miss Dior to a Natalie Portman movie. When the movie is about an iconic fashion house, you show deference and pay respect to the history (even if the family the movie is about hates it and sues the filmmakers LOL). This can be done subtly with an iconic bag or shoes or an all out look with full Guccissima. If it were me…I would’ve opted for a vintage printed Gucci dress. Oh! Or maybe the iconic mauve floral printed suit from 2015 runway. With her supposed connections, she could’ve passed the assignment. But again, Vic isn’t in it for the love of fashion. She’s in it for the bragging rights and free tit.

Also, no comment on Daniel Lee ending his partnership with Kering and Bottega?!? I hope he’s going over to Phoebe’s new brand 🥰

Burberry may also be on the cards. We will see which fashion commentators got it rights You don’t have to wear Gucci to a Gucci film event. But at lease be consistent if she wanted to do dior wear dior, don’t half arse it and think a Gucci belt meets the assignment.

I am English and live in England, I have a tartan smart jacket and always wear it around dec early jan time!. Maybe its because we see Scottish shortbread in tartan boxes in the run up to Xmas?. interesting question, but I don't know exactly. Certainly wearing tartan in summer feels very wrong even in spring....

I think the dress is screaming out for opaque tights boots and maybe a thin polo bodysuit with sleeves under to warm it all up being as its marketed for xmas.

HC made Vic the trench to match so watch out for that, but HC refuse to make the trench in this fabric for normal customers.... it was a gift to Vic...

Clearly she is not a Gucci women. Then why the belt vic? Just wear dior belt and be done with it.

weird, sponsored by Dior perhaps scared to upset Dior? I personally think its a bit insulting to Gucci to arrive not in a single item of Gucci

maybe there is a 2-3 year HC contract in place?. Maybe first collection left them with too much unsold stock (I don't know without looking?) and they decided to make to order

She deleted all the other comments asking why she wore a dior bag to the gucci film. Really vic 🙄 she is being so sensitive and its just fashion commentary at the end of the day.

But again, she wasn't invited to the event by Gucci, but rather Dyson, and it was a film premiere not a Gucci event, not even a fashion event. What she wore was appropriate and adequately fitting attire for a film premiere.

Thank you sweety. I'm English in England and couldn't believe it was just a 'my family' thing since we have no Scottish heritage...we are from East London and Norfolk!! Southern Southerners.

I like that;
Blame the Marks & Spencers and Harrods Shortbread!! 🤣😂🥰

And she took it to the beach once in Maldives.

A velvet bag.
Velvet Designer Bag. At the beach.
#MoreMoneyThanSense
The beach? I’ve heard it all now. Velvet in the summer, at the beach, with denim cut-offs and a frilly, white cotton top?

She really has peasant taste and no sense of style. A velvet bag for a summer beach day. Sorry, I’m laughing so hard I can hardly type!😂

I'm American and live in the Midwest but I love wearing my J crew tartan skirt for Christmas eve. And I have some tartan button downs for other festive things. I definitely think of tartan as a holiday thing (though to be fair I wear it during the rest of the year too, but I'm also not a fashion influencer...)

I feel like Vic must be selling her Holland Cooper stuff to other state side Midwesterners bci do not think unusual at all for people to send/post holiday photos of their families and usually someone is in tartan. Not sure if that would fly in more high fashion areas?

American here, too, and I have nothing against true tartan plaids. I love the history and the tradition and pride involved with Scottish tartans. There’s an elegance to them

And, hey, if it’s good enough for Ralph Lauren, it’s good enough for me!

I’m just not fond of Holland Cooper’s interpretation of tartan plaid - very ordinary and boring. And, unless it’s evening attire, I don’t like sleeveless winter dresses. Everyone always looks like they’re half freezing to death in them.
