Really didn’t expect it to be Scarlette. Shame really the last challenge came too late to make a difference. The last 3 were brilliant at that, and Mike and Jill were hilarious in the bar. Much better episode than last night’s.

I think the reaction to tonight might be loads of people voting to save Baba, so Seann will be the next one out.

I talk about IAC to friends, family and colleagues after each show. The names that get brought up the most are Matt, BG, Owen. We haven't discussed Scarlette since the opening days of the show, pleasant as she is, there's nothing much to say. That, plus the fact she had little existing fanbase, isn't a great sign of someone being likely to make it to the final.

This race thing has spoilt this thread for me. I loved Scarlett and was shocked to see her picked. I had her up there in the cyclone with Owen and Mike hopefully..I am white but none of this race nonsense crossed my mind......until now...

But who voted to save her - she is hardly famous and is not in the front of viewers minds. It’s votes to save, so unless she has a decent fan base I couldn’t have seen her staying in.
Sue will have her Corrie fans. It’s very odd - but I know of a fair few avid fans of the show (I’ve not watched it since the 90s). Owen will last until the end as he will have a fan base. They really should vote to leave.

Agree with this about fanbase. Isn't Scarlette 's show on in the daytime when a lot of people will be at work, uni etc.

Tbh, the only ones I really knew who they were before hand were Mike, Matt and BG. I was aware of ‘that Lioness who called the German player a bleeping prick’ and knew of CM without having ever listened to any of his programmes and I’m not sure I could have placed a face to the name. The others were all totally new to me, I could literally have passed them in the street without knowing they were ‘celebs’. Depends a lot on the viewers’ demography I suppose (and by that I DON’T mean race. Age mostly).

I think the age thing let Scarlette down as many have said, as older viewers will have no clue of her in the mainstream and younger viewers won’t be watching daytime tv.

I reaaally hate race conversations on tattle. Charlene does bring up race a lot, because when you’re a POC you face all sorts happening to you literally week in week out, and you won’t get that unless you’re in that position, the same way a straight person can empathise with a gay person but has no idea how they might be persecuted against and how it feels.

The phrase colourblind is also completely dismissive of the different things different people go through. I get not wanting to force things, but that representation is so much more impactful than we could ever imagine.
