He is also an MP, who should be at work, to help his constituency navigate themselves through some tricky times. Instead he is trying to forge a new career as a media personality, earning a big wedge of cash in the process. All about him. In the midst of the pandemic he brought in a woman he had long been attracted to into his department, gave her a high profile job, and was conducting an affair at the same time as his department was dealing with the crisis. His mind wasn’t on his role as Health Minister, he just wanted to get his leg over. He resisted resigning, he was made to in the end.

He is a slimy liar, saying he wants to raise awareness for dyslexia, and bring politics to the people. He is doing this for one reason only, his days of a senior political appointment are over, he is not content to be a backbencher, he wants fame and easy cash. He could easily earn extra cash, like all MPs can, but it’s not enough - he wants to be a personality. He has also approached a tv company to pitch an idea of cameras following his new partner and him renovate their house. He, and I suspect his new partner, want to be tv personalities. He is not at all remorseful about his lack of morals or efficacy, and we are all supposed to go Aah, he was in love, we’ll forget about everything. He will probably win this show. Already that cowardly idiot Babatunde, who on day one was saying he shouldn’t be in there, is now all over him and liking his company. Babatunde is probably representative of the people who would like Hancock to win.

This programme has never been intelligent viewing, but it’s escapism, particularly being set in Oz during our winter. It wasn’t the same in Wales, the outdoor nature of the programme makes a difference. However bringing Hancock in negates the escapism aspect, it’s bringing in a reminder of depressing reality. Plus last night’s show was like an children’s tv programme. All that secret mole stuff was not funny or entertaining.
Nailed it.

I didn't know about the idea for cameras following renovations. Major eyeroll.

IKR, I don’t like Matt Hancock but not sure where Boy George got off complaining like he had any moral high ground.

I completely agree. I’m not a fan of Boy George’s self-entitled attitude, but the difference between him and Matt Hancock is that Boy George served his time in prison (albeit, it wasn’t long enough but still) whereas Matt is still walking free despite having blood on his hands, and if anything, is profiting from the deaths he was partly responsible for by capitalising on his infamy to get onto reality TV shows.

It proves that more people are interested in reality tv than politics. Don’t more people vote in X Factor than a General Election? We are a chav nation unfortunately and the intellect is awol. It is all shallow these days. As long as someone provides 5 minutes of entertainment that cancels out the sheer incompetence, self interest and lack of morals that a public servant has demonstrated. This thread and is a demonstration of that, just worried about Matt’s hurty feelings, and completely disregarding the fact that he was unfit for office and only resigned when forced, as was his boss Boris, but because he is on Ant n Dec it’s entertainment, and let’s forget about it. He is coining it in, whilst taking his MPs salary. The country is in a mess, and Matt Hancock is a part of the problem - but people who are willing to overlook his lack of morality for the sake of a few laughs are The Problem.

In all fairness everyone can have an opinion. You’re also watching this reality TV and contributing to this thread. Just because some have different opinions don’t make us chavs. I don’t think anyone is overlooking anything with Matt Hancock. I am not a Matt fan. Many want to see him suffer. But he is one of many conservatives who was part of the problem. So many mistakes was made. Our country definitely wasn’t equipped for a pandemic at all. I do hope conservatives are out next election. But we’ve got boy George in there after being in prison. Seann his cheating and gas lighting behaviour, don’t get me started on the rest. I don’t think there is many in the jungle who can take the moral high ground either. But Matt could hide away but he’s putting himself out there in a situation he’s clearly not comfortable and knows he’s going get slaughtered in the press. His politics career is ruined and he knows it so he’s trying to up his profile just like all of them. I’m also more annoyed boy George is there I don’t get why people think that’s okay. What he’s done is worse.

Jesus who pissed on your cornflakes this morning. If it’s a bit I don’t find entertaining I look on tattle. You do realise it’s a reality Tv so not everything can make the cut. You can’t say he’s not talking about dyslexia and other matters it’s most likely edited out or will be in a show soon. Narinder said that who was on Jeremy vine yesterday who was on big brother. So much stuff will not make the cut. Doesn’t mean he’s not addressed it. He is doing every challenge so give him chance. They’re condensing 24 hours in an hour or so with 12 campmates to edit.

I don’t actually care if Boy George went to prison for it and Matt Hancock didn’t, I don’t think what they’ve done is comparable but what I do think is comparable is the self righteous attitude of one vs the other.

Apologies if I missed this but just in case it wasn’t shared…From Popbitch Keith ( oooh I love love love him) and Moyles on a night out

I can't believe Hancock has fans, like wtf 😂 😂 😂 😂 .... people have the shortest memories
I m not a fan but it’s pointless moaning about it. It is what it is and making a show better to watch and that’s what this is about. I can’t believe boy George has fans 🤔 how miserable is he. But I’m not going to moan and judge people for that. It is what it is. People moaning about a show there is a tv remote and a choice. I choose to still watch it. I’m sure we’ll see diva boy George kick off soon.

Why are you going after people with an opinion? You asked someone earlier if someone had pissed in their cornflakes because you didn't like what they said.... I reckon its yours that's been pissed on.
Have another coffee love and lighten up,,,, and as you said yourself it's only a TV show.

I’m replying to a thread just like you are 🤔 my opinion is just as valid as yours and there are two sides. Like I said I am not a Matt fan but I said pissed on cornflakes as she was still going off on one and seemed really angry and OTT about Matt on the show. It’s a show. She can have any opinion that she likes but pointless going off on one. Calling everyone names. I don’t like boy George but some of defending him is laughable but I’m not angry at him being there or calling his fans names. I don’t think he should be but it is what it is. Pointless moaning as the true him will show. I’m not going to shut up just because you don’t like my opinion sorry.

Just remember, Matt Hancock didn't give a fuc* about anyone in the UK during the pandemic :(

Hancock persuaded Boris to buy 100 million AZ vaccines when our PM thought 20 million was enough, which got us out of the mess sooner. He also had to put up with the unelected Professor Doom and Professor Gloom having too much say. While trying to protect health he had Sunak fighting his own corner to Boris to open up sooner as his job was finances. The worst thing Hancock did was not end his marriage the right way when he fell for another woman.

Boy George is a convicted criminal who did an heinous thing.

I am not surprised by this at all and I find the Matt Hancock Boy George who is worse comparisons laugahble. BG chained someone to a radiator and beat them with a metal chain!!!! I am no MH fan but just wow.

I was gobsmacked at the time by his behaviour. I've gone right off him since that incident occurred.

When he was charged in 2009 for holding someone Prisoner, I was not surprised.

Why the media continue to entertain this odious arsehole - and conveniently forget his past misdemeanours - is beyond me.

The BBC were happy to ban their own stars who were up to no good, but happily had BG on series five of The Voice - which made them look like a bunch of Hypocrites. I even commented on this at the time.

So for BG to make out he is some kind of saint compared to Hancock is laughable.

I’ve seen multiple people excuse Boy George’s actions and conviction because he was an addict at the time. Just putting it out there that addiction is, in my eyes, not and should never be and excuse for such behaviour.

I agree, it is a zero excuse.

He could go out and murder someone, but being high at the time is a get out clause? I think not.

Those that are defending him only see the 'nice side' of him on TV. They haven't seen, nor experienced his nasty side.

He went to jail for it & he was a huge addict when he committed the heinous crime.

I could think of a few politicians who should do jail time for the heinous way they messed with people's lives during the pandemic & the pain they caused.

Yep, I am aware of that incident. I also understand he paid his dues, i.e. he went to jail, willingly. He was also an addict when this happened and was having a psychotic episode. I am not trivialising what he did. He shouldn't be chastised for that incident for the rest of his life. He also got sober and has been for many years, which is courageous and commendable.
He is a wonderful person, highly intelligent, complex, talented, a free-thinker, witty etc.

Matt Hancock on the other hand..........

Why dont you experience being pestered and harassed into going home with BG at a nightclub. Then being abused, both physically and verbally if you refused. If you did, then being being chained to a radiator and whipped with a heavy metal chain and quite possibly forced into having sex.

Nowadays all this is all classed as #metoo

I doubt you would be so understanding and sympathetic to 'poor old Boy George' then.

He served just four months in Prison on a 15 month sentence. He didn't serve his time at all.

No one else in real life is released so early on in a sentence for similar offences. He likely used his celeb status as some kind of reason/justification for being released early.
