Nailed it.He is also an MP, who should be at work, to help his constituency navigate themselves through some tricky times. Instead he is trying to forge a new career as a media personality, earning a big wedge of cash in the process. All about him. In the midst of the pandemic he brought in a woman he had long been attracted to into his department, gave her a high profile job, and was conducting an affair at the same time as his department was dealing with the crisis. His mind wasn’t on his role as Health Minister, he just wanted to get his leg over. He resisted resigning, he was made to in the end.
He is a slimy liar, saying he wants to raise awareness for dyslexia, and bring politics to the people. He is doing this for one reason only, his days of a senior political appointment are over, he is not content to be a backbencher, he wants fame and easy cash. He could easily earn extra cash, like all MPs can, but it’s not enough - he wants to be a personality. He has also approached a tv company to pitch an idea of cameras following his new partner and him renovate their house. He, and I suspect his new partner, want to be tv personalities. He is not at all remorseful about his lack of morals or efficacy, and we are all supposed to go Aah, he was in love, we’ll forget about everything. He will probably win this show. Already that cowardly idiot Babatunde, who on day one was saying he shouldn’t be in there, is now all over him and liking his company. Babatunde is probably representative of the people who would like Hancock to win.
This programme has never been intelligent viewing, but it’s escapism, particularly being set in Oz during our winter. It wasn’t the same in Wales, the outdoor nature of the programme makes a difference. However bringing Hancock in negates the escapism aspect, it’s bringing in a reminder of depressing reality. Plus last night’s show was like an children’s tv programme. All that secret mole stuff was not funny or entertaining.
I didn't know about the idea for cameras following renovations. Major eyeroll.
