When thinking of BG’s career can you instantly think of any other songs of his. Or is he like Peter Material Girl Andre
BG does have a good voice and was considerably 'cooler' than Peter Andre at the height of his career. His band were very popular on the 1980s and had a lot of hits, BG also lead the way with his fashion choices.

Peter Andre was never cool.

Instantly?

Do you really want to hurt me?
Church of a poisoned mind.
War song.
It is hard now to realise the impact Boy George and Culture Club had in the 80s.
People genuinely did not know if he was male or female. There were so many young teens wandering around dressed like him.

Who could forget his later black neck phase - to create the illusion of a chiselled jawline 😂

I am of ‘that certain age’ and unfortunately with the menopausal brain not to remember these songs
I keep thinking of UB40 instead of culture club too…. I’m still blaming the menopause 😆

Well that's the problem, we just had SO MUCH good music in the 80s and 90s. Easy to confuse who sang what!
The late night reruns of old Top of the Pops episodes are absolute gold, partly for how shit the studio/set/lights/outfits look now. But mostly for the sheer quantity of hit after hit and how many of them are still played all the time today and still used in films and adverts etc. Very very few singers and groups making music today, will still be being played in 40 years time, like Boy George / Culture Club and UB40 and so on, are today.

The other thing about Boy George's music, is that there aren't really any famous cover versions of any of it, like there are with other popular hits. I don't know if that's because he actively prevented anyone covering his music, he may have done. I like to think it's down to his uniqueness, and the tracks just don't work with other people trying to sing them, it has to be him to sound right.

So many posts I can’t keep up but I have been ordering the thread by most liked posts and reading the first few pages worth… have to say it’s very interesting reading everyone’s opinions and thoughts! Some really articulate well thought out points, thank you for sharing.
Sorry for jumping on but how do you order the thread?

I suspect George’s veganism is the reason why he can’t do any of the trials involving animals. He’ll never do an eating trial. But then you have to ask why a vegan is even in there in the first place as PETA actively campaigns against the show?
I think someone was a vegetarian and done one before. It was a trial with Jordan North and Vernon Kaye. I don’t think it was Beverley, I think it was the other lady that I can’t remember.
She had to eat like vomit fruit or something
