I wonder why people who are raised to think work is optional and that they should expect handouts because of reasons might grow up to be lazy and have a sense of entitlement? It's baffling. Really does make mu think.

Is the eldest that has ADHD?
Going by my own experience with my ADHD, if you come in screaming, shouting and nagging me to do a thing I will dedicate my life to avoiding doing the bleeping thing. Can’t imagine what it’s like to grow up with ADHD with that wailing blobby banshee.
I suspect the eldest was peripheral as soon as she had her '2 little kings'. She's never mentioned him around the DV situation despite him being the one who'd have been old enough to fully understand the terror of it all. Bet he was with with his dad most of the time. His turning out decent will be down to a fathers influence. You do get mums who basically duck the eldest off as soon as they're busy with younger ones. I grew up with a lad who was made to live in a busted up old caravan at the bottom of the garden when his mum had a new baby. So cruel.

Quoting myself like a dick just to say I’m in no way trying to blame my ADHD for me being a stubborn, petty child, but it definitely contributes to my “you can duck off im not doing that” attitude.

He’s not even diagnosed as having ADHD. It’s only Sarah’s professional opinion based on two months of studying Psychology and shoehorning herself into the SEN parents Twitter space.
I bet he was having emotional difficulties as a kid because his dad left, his mum drove away all other role models, he had to watch her and her 12 year old boyfriend having barnies all the time and then he became a father figure to his two twin baby brothers when he was a child himself, and rather than hold herself to account, it was easier for Sarah to claim neurodivergence. A tale as old as time.
